Training for Operators – Initial Dispatch Course Objective The objective of the course is to provide introduction and basic aviation knowledge for flight dispatch and flight operations officers (FOO). The course is in accordance with EU-OPS requirements and based on ICAO Doc 7192-AN/857, Part D-3. As there are no official European JAR licenses for dispatch personnel, the course is aimed at individuals or companies (FBO’s) who require in-depth knowledge of the practical duties of a flight dispatcher or flight operations officer in an European environment. Goals Candidates successfully completing the course will gain the required introduction in subjects which are relevant for dispatch positions. The candidate will be able to follow specialised, in-depth studies to achieve advanced dispatch/operations qualification and will contribute to safety, reliability and economy of the flight operation within their company. The theoretical training is best combined with practical, hands-on exercises within an operator. This training will give the candidate the required theoretical knowledge as a flight dispatcher. Some countries may have different, special regulations for dispatch training requirements.

Program Outline The following subjects will be covered in this training course:  Civil air law and regulation (JAA/EASA/EU, ICAO)  Aviation indoctrination  Aeroplane performance  Navigation  Air traffic management (ATC/ATM)  Meteorology  Mass (weight) and balance  Transportation of dangerous goods by air  Flight planning incl. ETOPS for (non) certified ETOPS aeroplanes  Operations Control, Flight monitoring / watch  Aviation Communications incl. Datalink (ACARS, AFIS, etc.)  Human Factors/Dispatch Resource Management  Contingencies (emergencies and abnormal situations)  Applied practical training/exam

Duration Duration of the course is ca. 120 hours of distant learning training. Certificate Successful candidates will receive a Certificate of Attendance with details related to the covered areas during the course, including all stages which have been successfully passed. Price 1990 CHF per candidate, excluding ca. 700 CHF for training material.
