Abstract This study examined the feasibility of high-resolution metabolomics analyzing longitudinal metabolic adaptations of collegiate American-style football (ASF) participants engaged in organized, team ASF training.15 freshman ASF participants (18.5 ± 0.6 years) from one National Collegiate Athletic Association Division-I program were studied before and after their first competitive ASF season. High-resolution liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry plasma metabolomics and bioinformatics analytics were used to measure metabolic differences between pre- and post-season measurements. Paired analyses of ASF participants demonstrated no significant changes in bodymass index or blood pressure. 302 metabolites were differentially expressed in the post season (p
