2018 AT A GLANCE

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The Indians overcame an early 3-0 deficit and knocked off the Mud Hens by a 5-4 final last night. Sean Rodriguez provided the decisive hit with a two-RBI infield single to short in the seventh. Jason Martin and Kevin Newman both scored on the play, ultimately giving Indy its 17th comeback win of the season. Toledo led 3-0 until the third when Pablo Reyes followed a Wyatt Mathisen double with a two-run homer to left. The blast sailed 397 feet and was the third in as many days for the Tribe utilityman. Martin and Newman collected hits in the fifth that made it a 4-3 ballgame, the latter lining a two-out double down the left-field line for his second two-bagger of the night. Dovydas Neverauskas pitched the ninth for his third save, and Damien Magnifico earned the win with two shutout frames in relief. SCHULTZ TO THE DL, KELLER TO THE IL: Right-handed reliever Bo Schultz was placed on the 7-day DL yesterday with a right forearm strain. He missed the entire 2017 campaign due to Tommy John surgery. Mitch Keller was also placed on the temporary inactive list; he's expected to pitch in relief for the U.S. Team in the MLB All-Star Futures Game today in Washington, D.C. THREE PEAT FOR PABLO POWER: Pablo Reyes homered for a third consecutive game last night, the first time in his career where he's accomplished the feat. He is the first Tribe player to homer in three consecutive games since Max Moroff did so from April 6-8, 2017. Coincidentally, each of those games were played against the Mud Hens, as well. HELLO, NEWMAN: Kevin Newman filled up the box score last night, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one RBI, one run scored, one walk and one stolen base. Since June 13, the Tribe leadoff man is batting .327 (33-for-101) with a .373 OBP and .818 OPS. His hit total of 33 since that date is tied for sixth most in the International League. J-MART IN BUSINESS: Jason Martin had two hits and two runs scored last night, lifting his average to .319 (15-for-47) through 12 Triple-A contests. He already had four multi-hit games with Indy and has hit safely in 10 of the 12 games. LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO NINE: The Indians have gone a season-high eight straight games by having nine hits or less offensively, but they've still managed to go 6-2 during that stretch. Despite the somewhat cold stretch offensively (.250, 64-for-256) over the last eight contests, the Indians are still averaging 4.9 runs per game (39 runs). When posting single-digit hit totals, the Tribe are 24-31 this season; they're 26-9 when recording 10 or more hits. PROTECT THE VIC: The Indians are 29-18 at The Vic and have won 15 of their last 20 games in the Circle City. Seven of Indy's league-high 11 shutouts have come at Victory Field. Indy's 29 home wins are second most in the league behind Lehigh Valley (30). The Indians are 6-4 against the Hens at home this year and own a 122-79 (.607) record against them all-time at The Vic. CAN'T STOP OSUNA: Jose Osuna is batting .341 (60-for-176) with four homers, 21 doubles, 34 RBI and a .924 OPS in 48 games for the Tribe. Since June 3 with Indy (21 games), Osuna has batted .372 (30-for-82) with eight doubles, 15 RBI and 10 runs scored. He has hit safely in six straight contests (.429, 9-for-21) and 40 of his 47 starts for the Tribe this year.

The Indians have hit at least one home run in six consecutive games dating back to July 6 vs. Columbus, every game coming at The Vic. It is their longest streak of games with at least one dinger since a 10-game stretch from June 9-19, 2013. Only the first three games during that stretch came at Victory Field, however.

Tonight's Starter: Right-hander Casey Sadler will toe the rubber in his seventh start of the season. The 27-year-old opened his 2017 campaign with High-A Bradenton (2-0, 0.75 ERA in six relief appearances) before being transferred to Indianapolis. He made eight relief appearances for the Tribe before being sent to Double-A Altoona in early July. With Altoona, he went 2-3 with a 3.91 ERA in 10 games (six starts) and returned to Indy in late August. Sadler missed the entire 2016 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on Nov. 10, 2015. He was selected by the Pirates in the 25th round of the 2010 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Western Oklahoma State College. Last Outing: Sadler earned his first hold of the season after 1.0 inning of one-hit work at home against Toledo. With a hold added to the mix, Sadler becomes one of two IL pitchers with at least five starts, five wins, one save and one hold, joining Durham’s Ryan Weber. The relief appearance was preceded by his only quality start this season, a 6.0-inning effort with no earned runs. Sadler’s fifth win included five strikeouts and a single walk. Against the Mud Hens: Sadler will chalk up his seventh start against Toledo with Sunday’s tilt. Through 11 total appearances, the righty is 4-2 with a 4.78 ERA (23 ER/43.1 IP). This season, he has faced Toledo four times (one start). Earlier this homestand, Sadler earned his first hold of the year, against the Mud Hens. Miscellaneous: His wife's name is Marin and they have one daughter, Kaysen Caroline (4/18/17). He played collegiately at Western Oklahoma State College, where he went 10-1 with a 3.12 ERA in 17 games (15 starts) during his sophomore season in 2010. He was ranked by Baseball America among the top 25 players in the state of Oklahoma prior to the 2010 draft. He graduated from Ripley (Okla.) High School in 2008. He was a 2013 Eastern League midseason All-Star and a 2014 International League midseason All-Star with Indy.
