Provincial Pro-D Day, Friday October 19th, 2012 • Four Hands-On Activities with classroom ready handouts: Higgs Search Masterclass, Bubble Chamber Photograph Analysis, Hadron and Higgs Hide-nSeek, M11 Beamline Demonstration • Five Speakers including: Peter Vogel – A Teacher’s Experience at the LHC, Bernd Stelzer – The Quest for the Higgs Boson at the Large Hadron Collider, Makoto Fujiwara - Anti-Hydrogen, Joe Mildenberger - Fukushima Radiation Effects, Doug Bryman - Muon Geo-tomography Registration:

Schedule: 7:45 AM – Registration begins 8:00 - 8:45 AM – TRIUMF tour (limit 12 people – first come, first serve so arrive early) 8:30 – 9:00 AM – Coffee Break 9:00 – 9:05 AM – Welcome, Bev McLeod, BCAPT 9:05 – 9:35 AM – A Teacher's Experience at the LHC, Peter Vogel, Notre Dame Regional Secondary School 9:35 – 10:30 AM - The Quest for the Higgs Boson at the Large Hadron Collider, Bernd Stelzer, SFU 10:30 – 10:45 AM – Coffee Break 10:45 – 11:40 AM – Session 1 (choose between four activities or 1 speaker – Doug Bryman - Muon Geo-tomography) 11:45 AM – 12:40 PM – Session 2 (choose between four activities or 1 speaker – Joe Mildenberger - Fukushima Radiation Effects) 12:45 – 1:30 PM – Lunch 1:30 – 2:25 PM – Session 3 (choose between four activities or 1 speaker – Makoto Fujiwara - Anti-Hydrogen) 2:30 – 2:45 PM Closing Remarks and Door Prizes!
