In your e-mail you requested: A UKTI press release of 28 July 2010 stated that "some 54,000 jobs in the UK ar e linked to defence exports" (http://www.ukti.gov.uk/uktihome/media/pressRelease/114841.html). I would like to ask how that figure was calculated and for copies of any documents that were used in making the calculation. The latest, and last, figures publi shed by Defence Analytical Services and Advice (DASA) show that estimated employment from defence exports in 2007/08 was 65,000 (see link). T he figure of 54,000 was given during a briefing as a best estimate, without access to the published DASA figure at the time.
