A- Our Adversary and His Hosts 1. Our Adversary - is a created being and a fallen creature. He seeks to be like God and even tries to impersonate Him. (Isa. 14:13-14) He is known by many names: Satan, Lucifer, Beelzebub, the devil, ancient serpent, dragon, the evil one etc. (Rev. 12:9) He is a murderer and a liar - the father of lies. (John 8:44) He is a thief who tries to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10) Satan cannot separate the true believer from the love of God (Rom 8:38-39) He cannot keep God's grace from being extended to the believer. (2 Cor. 9:8) God's people are able to overcome the activity of Satan. (Rev 12:11) 2. Satan's Influence - is restricted. . . . to the parameters God has set for him (Psa. 74:17) . . . to the sin claims he is able to make (Eph. 4:26-27) 3. Satan's Hosts - have the capability to affect us in a number of ways. When they attack, it is because our sovereign God has permitted them to test us or to chastise us. They can influence our thoughts with temptations. (Acts 5:3) They can touch our dream state - nightmares. (Job 4:12-16) They are able to cause emotional, mental or physical trauma (fear, confusion & pain). (2 Tim 1:7 NKJV; 1 Sam. 16:14) They erect spiritual barriers or walls in our lives and relationships. They sometimes affect our health. (Job 2:7; Lk. 13:16) They can influence the function of equipment. They can engineer accidents. (Mt. 17:15) They often direct people into our lives to hinder us. (Mt. 16:23) They control the will and imitate the personality of some. (Mk. 5:6-7; Acts 16:16-18) They are able to manifest themselves to certain people. (Job 4:15-16) They keep Satan informed so that he can plan his strategy. They vary greatly in their personalities, various forms and strength. (Rev. 9:3-11) They have very little loyalty to one another, struggling for power. They have a wide range of assignments and intelligence. (Daniel 10:20; Mk. 5:9-13) They can hinder a person. (1 Thess. 2:18) Their greatest effectiveness is when they keep hidden and people think their problems are natural ones.

Because of their pride and arrogance, demons often over-play their advantage and expose their presence and work. Note: The Christian who lives in faith and obedience does not have anything to fear concerning enemy activity. Demons may harass and attack, but all this can be overcome if one's focus remains upon God. The enemy would love to distract us and cause us to become paranoid about what he may do. That becomes a bondage to fear which the enemy will build upon.

B-TERRITORIAL SPIRITS In the past few years increasing awareness of spirit activity on a territorial level has developed. John Dawson's book, "Taking Our Cities For God" and "Engaging The Enemy" edited and compiled by C. Peter Wagner made a major contribution in helping Christians become aware of territorial spirits. In Mark 5, Jesus met a man who had demons and lived among the tombs. These spirits in him were called "Legion," for they were many. "The spirits begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area." (5:10) They had a lot of power that particular area, because raised pigs, contrary to the commands of the Lord. They tried to bargain with Jesus to send them into a herd of pigs, so that they might remain in the area. We must not think that Jesus complied with their wishes. He used this incident to show us that demons are real entities, not someone's overactive imagination or cultural superstition. Only real entities could affect a herd of two thousand pigs enough to drive them into a frenzy down a steep bank on the run into a lake and drown. Ironically, the spirits ended up without a place to dwell and probably had to go where the Lord sent them. Another scriptural example of territorial spirits is provided in Daniel 10. the angel messenger told Daniel that the answer he had been bringing in answer to his prayer had been delayed for three weeks because a demonic prince over Persia had detained him. The messenger said the angel Michael had come to his aid (10:13). The angel also said that he would have to fight against the demonic princes of Persia and Greece on his return and that he would have only Michael to help him (10:20-21). In Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28, we notice that Lucifer is the power behind both the king of Babylon and the king of Tyre. Their domains were really his domains. It brings to mind the offer that the devil made to Jesus when he tempted him in the desert (Lk 4). "The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, 'I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. so if you worship me, it will all be yours.' " (Luke 4:5-7) Jesus did not challenge that statement, because it was true. Jesus even called him the "prince of this world" in John 12:31. He rules over the kingdoms and countries working through the rulers and governments.

We become accountable to do something about what the Lord is showing us. God revealed to our church four territorial spirits that were attacking churches in the northeastern part of the United States. We began to pray against their activity in order to frustrate and bring down their work. We witnessed some very encouraging changes occur. But after a period of time, we began to slack off in our warfare against this enemy. Maybe we were getting weary of the same old routine Territorially, Satan is the "prince of this world." (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11) He has organized his kingdom on many levels with his princes serving him to keep the world in bondage. We cannot allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by the magnitude of the problem. We must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and be obedient to the calling He gives to each of us. The Kingdom of God is increasing its presence in the world and one day, the Son of God will usher in the Kingdom in its completeness. The battle is the Lord's and we are his warriors who await His command.

C-The Deceitfulness of Demons 1-. THEY IMPERSONATE GOD IN OUR THOUGHTS "And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve." - 2 Corinthians 11: 14-15 Religious spirits manifest themselves to people as an "inner voice" from God. They come as "angels of light" saying to some, "You are special to Me." "Your are different from others. I am giving you special knowledge - a special assignment." They flatter people with these words enticing them to spiritual pride. This is often how cults are born. Spirits also impersonate the Holy Spirit and try to inflict a lot of guilt. Rather than bringing loving conviction, they pound with accusations of how bad we are and how worthless we have become. They torment with thoughts of turning from God and losing our salvation. II. THEY IMPERSONATE OUR OWN THOUGHTS - Using our expressions Extremely negative thoughts - "I am a failure" - "I am ugly" - "I am worthless" - "I will never succeed" - "God does not love me" - "I am a misfit. No one cares about me." Prideful thoughts - "I am better than others" - "I am smarter than she is" - "I am more spiritual than they are" - "I don't need anyone else" Rebellious thoughts - "I have a right to do what I want with my life" - "Nobody is going to tell me what to do"

Hatred - "I don't like them because . . ." - "I will never forgive them because . . ." - "I want them to suffer the way they made me suffer." Suicide - "I am better off dead" - "Nobody cares if I die anyway" - "They'll be sorry when I die" - "Why not drive my car head on into the oncoming traffic?" (Are these self-thoughts always demonic? No. But many of them do have their source in the demonic.) III. THEY IMPERSONATE SATAN'S PRESENCE Many times spirits take one of the names of Satan and confront the victim as Satan himself. They are attempting to intimidate the person by instilling fear that they are being confronted with the "prince of this world." They say, "I am too strong for you" - "I will torment you until you give in - submit to me and I will stop." "You have no chance because I am so powerful. Hoping to paralyze the victim into inactivity, they will often say - "Your God cannot help you - I will destroy you." IV. THEY BATTLE FOR THE MIND AND WILL Satan knows that if he can convince or intimidate us through one of these forms of attack, he will have a definite advantage. He seeks to bring our mind and will into subjection through lies and deception. When we are aware of these tactics, we will be more discerning when these attacks come to us. These attacks are much more deceptive than they appear. The fact that they have manifested in our thoughts makes them very personal. We are used to letting our thoughts lead us. What we must do is learn to test the thoughts that we receive with the Word of God. Whether the thoughts have their source in our flesh or demonically, testing them by the Word is always an effective defense.

The term itself is not found in the scriptures, but the concept is taught. Two of the most commonly associated passages were written by the Apostle Paul. "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms." Eph. 6:10-12 People tend to ignore the reality of evil. It is not just a relative and imaginary power; evil does exist, in many ways, and ignoring it or disapproving of it will never make it disappear. Read Ephesians 6:12-13 Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph 6:13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Spiritual warfare is an attempt to bring awareness about a proper balance in Christian lives. So many Christians have become passive and fearful. Some are satisfied just to believe the right things and attend church services and activities each week. This type of

lifestyle is quite different from that which Jesus had called believers. Like the apostles (Lk 9:1-2) and the seventy (Lk 10) who were told by Jesus to go out and preach and teach about the kingdom of God, and he also said they were to heal the sick and set the captives free. In Matt. 28:18-20, Jesus commissioned the disciples. And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. and remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." The new converts were to be discipled and taught that God wanted them to be doing the things that Christ's disciples had been doing. And Jesus would be with His people to the end of the age, doing His works through them as they were yielded to Him in faith. Spiritual warfare is a pro-active approach to our faith. We actively resist the devil when his hosts harass us. We actively pursue spiritual disciplines that will make us stronger and better prepared. We actively engage the enemy when people are in spiritual bondage. We utilize prayer as a weapon to penetrate strongholds that cannot be reached in any other way. Spiritual warfare is the putting aside of passive attitudes towards faith which keep us from commitment and cause us to pursue only those things that will benefit us. Instead of seeking our own agenda, we submit our will to God and accept the sacrifices He calls us to make. There is not one area of Christian ministry that has not become a battleground, but often there is not discernment that some form of spiritual resistance is in place. It has become common to attribute a natural or human explanation to most problems and leave it at that. The one who has a spiritual warfare perspective will be inclined to test the situation to ascertain whether or not there is something more than natural influences involved. For instance, when my daughter started having a series of painful bone cysts develop at the base of her spine, we challenged them with prayer and spiritual authority and they disappeared. When people enter our office for ministry, they often develop headaches or experience overwhelming fear. A command of spiritual authority immediately brings relief. A spiritual warrior has an alertness to the activity of the enemy. The Apostle Paul was a good example of a spiritual warrior. He didn't go out of his way to look for demonic activity, but when he encountered it, he quickly recognized it and then he confronted it with spiritual authority victoriously. A spiritual warrior knows he must bring discipline to his thought life and to his actions. If he allows these areas to be compromised, he will not be effective in resisting the enemy. He takes sin very seriously, because he knows that sin always gives the adversary an advantage. He must always be on guard against comparing himself with others and being entrapped by the subtlety of religious pride. The true warrior knows that he can do nothing that is affective in his own strength. His strength, authority, wisdom and

discernment are dependent upon his close walk with his Lord. He should always remain focused and guard himself against distraction caused by problems and troubles that appear. These are designed to get his eyes off the Lord and lure him into working in the flesh. Understanding spiritual warfare provides a new perspective on parenthood. Parents are entrusted with children by the Lord to nurture, cherish and protect. In the parent, the child needs to see a reflection of God's attributes of unconditional love, faithfulness and holiness. The parent should become a steward of God's grace in the home and be on guard against the enemy's assaults on any member of the family. A godly parent can exercise great authority in the name of Christ to resist the enemy and fight on behalf of the children. Like Job, a parent is also the priest of the home, bringing the sins of the children to God so that the enemy cannot establish strongholds in their lives. Spiritual warfare awareness can also be very effective in witnessing and evangelism. You learn to recognize the barriers and strongholds in advance and prepare the way through prayer, spiritual authority, divine appointments and ministry. A spiritual warrior knows his inheritance in Christ. He knows God's promises and is not easy prey to the lies and deceptions of the enemy, who tries to call these promises and inheritance into question. He understands the lie is the enemy's language and his most effective weapon. Therefore, the warrior seeks constantly to fortify himself in an understanding of God's truth which he wears like armor for protection. To summarize what I its written above, a commitment to spiritual warfare means: 1. A New Attitude - You begin to think like an overcomer with a victorious attitude. You walk according to your inheritance of grace in Christ. You no longer have an attitude of playing it safe or seeking not to rock the boat. You realize you want to be on the front lines for God, not trying to live the comfortable life with as few problems as possible. 2. A Greater Focus - You carefully guard against the attempts to distract you or to push your buttons. You recognize that the enemy likes to entangle God's people in the cares of this world or provoke us to react in the flesh. You understand the importance of keeping your eyes on the Lord and standing in faith upon God's character, not in your abilities. 3. A Necessary Discipline - You have begun to discipline yourself on all levels. You are setting more time aside for study and prayer. You are spending more time being alert and obedient to the leading of the Spirit. 4. A More Balanced Biblical World View - You take very seriously the Biblical warnings to God's people about an enemy that is real. "God has a wonderful plan by which you can have world-wide influence."

"You yourself can influence more people for God and have a greater role in advancing Christ's cause by prayer than in any other way. It is not the only thing you must do, but it is the greatest thing you can do." "As a child of God you have full authority to contact God, the Sovereign of the universe, whenever you desire. He is always enthroned in heaven; yet, through prayer, you have as much access to His presence as any angel or archangel." "God has been pleased to build into His eternal plan that we His children join with Christ in His intercessory role and rule today." "Prayer grasps hold of the promises of God and erects them like a wall between us and the powers of darkness. Prayer can bring God's angels rushing to our assistance. (2 Ki 6:15-17; Dan. 10:13; Heb 1:14) "The greatest way in which Christians can mediate blessing is through prayer."

TOUCH THE WORLD THROUGH PRAYER - by Wesley L. Duewel

1. "In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes." 2 Cor 2:11 2. THOUGHTS - Evil spirits have the ability to plant or transmit thoughts or suggestions into our consciousness. These are the seeds of IDEAS seeking to find fertile ground. They come to a person like their own thoughts and are received as such. One of the most destructive attacks is that of negative self-thoughts. ("I am not good." "I am just a failure." "I am so stupid. I can't do anything right." I will never succeed in anything." "God cannot use me." "No one cares for me.") 3. CONSIDERATION - Satan's plan is for us to allow the "idea" to remain and REFLECT on the pros and cons of its value. The more we consider it, the more we RATIONALIZE its merit. Any consideration of a lie without testing it against God's truth and standing against it becomes a sin claim that the enemy can use to strengthen his power against us. Having a thought or idea appear in our thinking is not sin until we accept it. 4. ATTITUDES - As we accept an idea, FEELINGS begin to emerge to support and confirm the idea. Subtlely ATTITUDES are formed on the basis of the confirmation of the feelings. 5. ACTIONS - Often actions are a natural RESPONSE to the growing intensity of thoughts and feelings. The actions are "knee-jerk reactions" to the influence of the lies in our life.

6. HABITS - When we allow our actions or reactions to continue unchecked in our lives, they become habits. The lies have now become established not only in the thoughts and feelings but in the subconscious as well. 7. BONDAGE - This is a stronghold that has gone in to place as the enemy has secured more influence and control through the yielding to sin. One becomes obsessive in thoughts and feelings and often compulsive in actions. 8. Above are the steps which the enemy has been using for centuries with great success. The apostle Paul gives us good advice in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NIV) 9. "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension [lie] that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ"

E-Why does God permit Satan and evil spirits to continue their work? The scriptures give us a number of instances where God permits an evil spirit to work in a person’s life. We are going to examine three ways God uses their activity. Let us examine the first reason: I. God uses evil spirits to dispense JUDGMENT. They are permitted to work in the lives of those who have brought condemnation upon themselves. A. Abimelech – Judges 9:23 – He was the son of Gideon’s concubine. When Gideon died, he had an opportunity to ascend to power and rule Israel. He convinced the men of Shechem to support him in getting rid of 70 brothers. Only Jothan, the youngest brother survived. Jothan later pronounced what could be called a prophetic curse upon Abimelech and the town of Shechem. After Abimelech had reigned three years, God permitted an evil spirit to start stirring up hatred between Abimelech and the people of Shechem. A man named Gaal convinced the people that they should not serve Abimelech. So, Abimelech attacked the city of Shechem and eventually killed the people and destroyed the city and its tower. Then Abimelech went to the city of Thebez and encamped against it. Many of the people of that city also fled to their tower for safety. As Abimelech approached the tower to burn it, as he had done in Shechem, a woman dropped a millstone down upon his head and crushed his skull. Rather than have it said he was killed by a woman, he had his armor bearer kill him with a sword.

"Thus God repaid the wickedness of Abimelech, which he had done to his father by killing his seventy brothers. And all the evil of the men of Shechem God returned on their heads, and on them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal." (Judg 9:56-57) b. King Ahab – 1 Kings 22:22-23 – He was a wicked king of Israel. Ahab asked Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah to go with him and fight at Ramoth Gilead to free the city from Syria’s control. Jehoshaphat asked Ahab to inquire of the Lord, to seek His will. Ahab called together 400 prophets and asked them if he should fight for Ramoth Gilead. All the prophets responded, "Go up, for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king." Jehoshaphat was not satisfied with the 400 prophets. He said, "Is there not still a prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of Him?" Micaiah was summoned and he told the king, "I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd." King Ahab was not happy with his response, because it was not what he wanted to hear. Then Micaiah, the prophet, spoke and said what the Lord had shown him in a vision. He saw the Lord sitting on his throne asking the question, "Who will persuade Ahab to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?" There were a few responses, then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said, "I will persuade him." The Lord said to him, "In what way?" so the spirit said, "I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets." And the Lord said, "You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so." The king had Micaiah put in prison and proceed to go to battle against the king of Syria. Even though he was disguised, a random arrow struck the king between his armor and he bled to death in his chariot on the battlefield. So, King Ahab was brought to judgment because God permitted an evil spirit to work in the circumstance. "They washed the chariot at a pool in Samaria (where the prostitutes bathed), and the dogs licked up his blood, as the word of the Lord had declared." (1 Kings 22:38) 2. God uses evil spirits to administer CHASTISEMENT. God chastises those who are sinning, that they might recognize their sin and turn their lives over to Him. Of course Satan is seeking a different outcome. a. King Saul – 1 Samuel – chapters 13-31 Saul was a very secular person who relied upon his own understanding and abilities, rather than God. God reprimanded him through the prophet Samuel on different occasions, because of his disobedience. First, he was informed that his kingdom would not endure, because God had sought out a man after His own heart (13:14). Next, he was told the Lord had rejected him as king over Israel (15:26). Then when the Lord had David anointed and the Spirit of the Lord came upon him in power, the Lord removed His Spirit from King Saul and permitted an evil spirit to torment him (16:14)

I believe the Lord was still trying to salvage the man, by getting his attention through the work of the evil spirit. He suffered depression, but still leaned on his own understanding and abilities. Often, when we are in mental, emotional or physical pain, we turn to Go for help. But Saul did not seek the Lord. Instead his life began to plummet. He became a very angry man, exhibited jealousy and fear because of David (18:18-19). The evil spirit was evidently exerting his influence in Saul’s life. He made repeated attempts to kill David. Finally, when the Philistines had gathered their forces to fight against Israel, King Saul was overcome with fear and terror. He decided to inquire of the Lord for guidance, but the Lord did not answer him. So, Saul asked his attendants to find him a medium that he might inquire of Samuel. King Saul did not get the answer sought. Instead, the Lord caused the prophet Samuel to be manifested to the medium in a vision. Samuel told Saul that he had become the Lord’s enemy. The Lord was going to hand both Israel and Saul over to the Philistines and both he and his sons would be with the Lord the following day. Shortly thereafter, when the Philistines fought Israel, Saul’s three sons were killed and Saul was critically wounded. Saul commanded his armor bearer to kill him with his sword. Thus, Saul and his sons died on the same day. If King Saul had responded differently to the chastisement that the Lord had permitted, his life and the lives of his sons might have been much different. Instead of turning to the Lord about his feelings towards David, he sought to eliminate his challenger on his terms. By trying to destroy God’s chosen one, he was actually fighting against God and making himself God’s enemy. Even the chastisement of the Lord did not bring about a change of heart in this man. b. Parable of the Unmerciful Servant – Matt 18:21-35 This parable was given by Jesus in response to the question, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me?" The Lord responded with a story about a servant who owed the king ten thousand talents. As the servant was unable to pay what he owed, his master ordered that he and his wife and children, along with all they possessed, be sold to repay the debt. The servant fell on his knees before the king and begged for his patience, so that he might have time to pay him back. His master surprised him by canceling his debt and letting them go. But the story did not end there. The forgiven servant found one of his fellow servants who owed him money and began grabbing him and choking him. He demanded to be paid what was owed him. His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, "Be patient with me and I will pay you back." But the forgiven servant would not forgive him but had the man thrown into prison until he would pay the debt. Other servants witnessed what happened and reported it to the master. The master called the servant in and reprimanded him. "You wicked servant, I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?" Then we are told, "And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the "tormentors," till he should pay all that was due unto him." (KJV)

The point I am trying to make is that we must remember this is a parable which is designed to convey a spiritual lesson to the listeners about the consequences of unforgiveness. I think the King James Version is a good translation that conveys the Lord‘s intent here. The Lord often turns sinners over to the enemy and permits him to torment them. It is through suffering the consequences of sin that a sinner repents and asks for mercy. Look at Ephesians 4:26-31, where Paul says, "Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold." (26,27) The context suggests to me that the various sins listed, in the passage, could each give the devil a foothold if practiced in a person’s life. The sins mentioned are: stealing, unwholesome talk, bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, slander and malice, to mention a few. Unforgiveness is certainly implied. 3. God uses evil spirits to TEST the believer’s faith and obedience. a. Job – The Book of Job – Job was blameless, upright, feared God and shunned evil (1:1). He was the greatest man among all the people of the East (1:3). He offered up sacrifices to the Lord each morning in case any of his children had sinned against God (1:5). There was no one on earth like him (1:8). It was the Lord who pointed out His righteous servant to Satan. What followed were a series of losses that would challenge Job’s faith and obedience. First, he lost his family and possessions. Then his health was taken from him. Then he had to endure the judgmental attitudes of his friends. Job maintained that what he was suffering was not caused by sin. He did question why the Lord was allowing all this to happen to him. But he professed in chapt 13:15, "Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him." Job was tested by Satan, humbled, sifted, and in the end had a greater appreciation of the greatness of God through his trials. The Lord made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before. The Lord gave him seven sons and three daughters. His daughters were the most beautiful in the land. Job lived a hundred and forty years and saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. b. The apostle Paul – 2 Corinthians 12:1-10 – Paul had a wonderful heavenly vision which was so real that he was not sure whether actually caught up, physically, to heaven or not. Following his heavenly vision, the Lord permitted an angelic messenger of Satan to give Paul a "thorn in the flesh," to torment him. Scholars have speculated as to the nature of the physical infirmity. Many think it was a problem with his eyes. In any case, Paul went to the Lord three times in prayer to seek release from his torment, but the Lord told him, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness" (12:8). Paul admitted that one of the reasons he had the "thorn in the flesh" was to keep him from becoming conceited or yielding to pride. Out of this experience he learned to boast in his

weakness rather than his abilities, so that Christ’s power could rest on him (12:9). He had learned to delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when he was weak, he was strong and the Lord received the glory. Believers have often had questions as to why the Lord tolerates Satan’s activities. Why does he permit Satan to continue to operate after Christ’s victory on the cross? Why is he allowed to touch believers? The prophet Habakkuk also had questions of this nature. He cried out to the Lord and complained. 1. "Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted." (1:3-4) The Lord answered him and said he was raising up a new force on the world scene, the ruthless and violent Chaldeans to sweep across the earth and conquer. (1:5-9) 2. "Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?" (1:13) He couldn’t understand why the Lord would use a people more wicked than His people to judge them. The Lord answered again and said, wicked men trust themselves alone [as these Chaldeans do], and fail; but the righteous man trusts in Me, and lives! (2:4) Then the Lord listed the five woes of those who trust in themselves, in plunder, in unjust gain, in bloodshed, in wicked pleasures or in idols. In other words, their judgment awaited them. 3. Habakkuk praised the Lord for answering his questions. He realized that evil will not triumph forever. He could see that God was in control and could be trusted to vindicate those who are faithful to Him. Habakkuk would wait on the Lord to fulfill His will not matter what trials had to be endured. He declared he would rejoice in the Lord, his Savior. He acknowledged the Sovereign Lord as his strength. (Chapter 3) As Andrew Murray taught, the Lord does his greatest work in Christians in the School of Suffering.

F- Why God Permits Demonic Activity 1. To be an agent of TESTING (Job 1 & 2; Luke 22:31-32) Satan was permitted to destroy Job's family, wealth and afflict him physically. Satan was permitted to sift Peter when Jesus was captured. 2. To be an agent of CHASTISEMENT (Isaiah 5 - The Parable of the Vineyard)

When the vineyard did not produce good fruit, its protection from the enemy was taken away so it could be trampled on. The rain was taken away to stifle its growth. When Christians do not produce fruit, we will be more vulnerable to the enemy and the blessings will decrease. 3. To be an agent of JUDGMENT (Judges 9 and 1 Kings 22) God used an evil spirit to bring judgment on Abimelech and the men of Schechem. God used a lying spirit to lead king Ahab to his death. 4. To be a Humbling agent (2 Cor. 12:7-10) Paul's testimony: "To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassing great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me." 5. To demonstrate GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY - (Daniel 10; 2 Kings 6) An angel sent to Daniel to bring an answer to his prayer had to fight a demonic prince over Persia. He got the assistance of Michael, the archangel, to get through. When the army of the King of Aram surrounded Dothan in order to capture Elisha, the prophet, the Lord provided a heavenly army to protect Elisha. When the enemy army came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, "Strike these people with blindness." They were made blind and Elisha told them they were in the wrong place and led them to Samaria. 6. To train God's people to use His AUTHORITY and POWER (1 Peter 5:8-9; Luke 10:19) "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings." "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm you." •

The Apostle Paul gave us hope concerning besetting sins like the sexual sins we have been discussing. He gives us principles in Romans 6 that can help us achieve victory if we apply them to our lives:

The Fact - (Rom 6:6) Christ has made it possible for us not to be slaves to sin. He gave His life that we might have victory.

The Faith Principle (Rom 6:11) We have to decide we are going to die to the sin and begin counting ourselves dead to it from this moment on no matter what temptation comes along. It can be done in faith.

The Obedience Principle (Rom 6:13) Stop offering the parts of your body to the sin, as instruments of wickedness!! Get rid of the pornography, don't visit porno sites, stop looking at people's bodies and look at their faces and see them as people whom God loves.

The Promise - (Rom 6:14) If you will follow the above principles, sin shall not be your master. This is a promise from God's word which is there to be claimed.

The Warning - (Rom 6:16) Your choices determine whom you are going to serve. Go and sin no more. The Lord will give you the grace and strength to claim victory. He is not going to twist your arm. You have to begin taking responsibility for your life and the lives your are affecting because of your sin.

Pray for your heart to be truly repentant of your sexual sins and confess your sexual sins to the Lord and then renounce them once and for all. Covenant with the Lord, in faith, to walk in the new life He has given you and die to the old life.

Cleansing You are the one responsible for your business and family life On the Cross, just before His death, Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." The book of Acts is a record of the many that came to believe in Jesus Christ as their Messiah and Savior. They became the basis of the Church that God called into being to become the body of Christ continuing His work here on earth. Both Jesus and the Holy Spirit continue to make intercession for us. (Romans 8:26, 34) This is part of God's wondrous plan of grace. Summary of the principles of intercession: 1. Adopt a Christ-like attitude toward the person for who you are interceding. Realize God's desire to see people free. Ask God to show you any wrong attitudes or motives which remain in you. Pray for God's love to overcome your prejudices and judgmental attitudes. 2. Ask God to show you the sin areas in a person's life that need to be addressed. Make a list of these areas so that you can intercede daily concerning them.

3. Address every act of sin that occurs around you immediately. Do not allow the enemy any freedom to work. This can be done by going immediately into another room for privacy or through silent prayer. 4. Use your believer's authority in Christ to attack demonic activity and bind up the spirit that is working at that time. Command that the spirit's power be broken and order the spirit to release the person to whom you are ministering. Mental commands can be effective in circumstances where you cannot speak aloud. Spirits communicate on a mental level anyway and the Holy Spirit anoints our commands with the authority and power of God. Always learn to act on the basis of faith, because you will not always see an immediate reaction in the natural. If Christians only realized what really happens when they pray or exercise spiritual authority, they would truly be amazed! 5. Test the spirits (1 John 4:1). Do not assume that your problems are always natural ones. Pray for spiritual discernment. It is possible to test situations by confessing any sin connection and then exercising spiritual authority against any demonic activity associated with the problem. You will be surprised by the number of times your situation will change as a result. I- Exercising Spiritual Authority In order to exercise any kind of authority, one must represent a source that is ready and able to back up the represented authority with an adequate reserve of power. 1. THE CALLING TO EXERCISE AUTHORITY Luke 9:1,2,6 - the disciples Luke 10:19 - the seventy-two Matthew 28:18-20 & Mark 16:17-20 - all believers Romans 16:20 - all believers James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8,9; & Ephesians 6:10-18 - all believers 2. THE CONDITIONS NECESSARY TO EXERCISE AUTHORITY FAITH - rooted in Jesus Christ (Mt 16:16,18,19) UNITY - of belief and purpose (Mt 18:19) It is extremely important to understand correctly what the Lord is saying about the conditions of exercising spiritual authority. Many assume they have carte blanche or full discretionary authority to personally exercise. That is not what is being said by the Lord. Notice the following verses which portray accurately what was expressed in the Greek language. Matthew 16:19 - "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you forbid on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven." (Williams version)

Matthew 18:18 - "I solemnly say to you, whatever you forbid on earth must be already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth must be already permitted in heaven." (Williams version) We must always be seeking God's will in each instance before exercising authority in Jesus' name. Sometimes we will already know God's will because it is revealed in His Word and other times we will need a direct revelation as to what we should do and when we should do it. 3. THE MANIFESTATION OF AUTHORITY The keys of the Kingdom - to bind & loose what God has already bound or loosed. This is contingent on knowing God's will, not being led by our desires. (Mt 16:19) (Note: The Greek word "bind"(deo) means to "put in bonds" or "forbid" - the sense might be to restrict or limit by God's authority the activity of the enemy or even render him helpless. The Greek word "loose" (luo) means to break up, destroy, dissolve or put off - the sense might be to break up the work of the enemy, destroy his strongholds or power, dissolve or put off whatever the enemy has put in place and thus "permit" the freedom the Lord has ordained.) Demonstrating the presence of God's kingdom - Ministering in power (Mt 12:28) Personally, I am committed to taking God's kingdom presence, His power and authority with me whenever and wherever I minister. I go as a representative of God's kingdom, operating in the calling He has put upon me. It is as objects of God's grace we are able to become "administrators of God's grace" to others. 1 Peter 4:10 - "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." 4. CONDITIONS THAT RESIST SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY Lack of Faith - Mt 17:19-21 A Community of Unbelief - (Prayer group, congregation etc) - Mk 6:4-6 The Practice of Sin - Gal 4:9; Jn 8:34,35 The Tricks of Satan - (Hindered through deception, attacks etc.) - 2 Cor 2:11 5. GOD'S AUTHORITY COMMITTED TO HUMAN HANDS Moses - Exodus 14:15ff - parting the Red Sea Elijah - 2 Kings 2:7-8 - parting the water in the Jordon River Elisha - 2 Kings 6:17,18 - praying blindness upon the enemy Paul - Acts 13:11 - pronounced blindness upon Elymas, the sorcerer Peter - Acts 5 - pronounced the death of Ananias & Saphirra The Promise - Acts 1:8 - power from the Holy Spirit The Testimony - Romans 15:18,19 "I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit."

II - Focus On The Lord When we are in the midst of chaotic circumstances, problems and obstacles start igniting like bond-fires across the landscape. The human reaction is to try to put out each fire, but the more we try, new ones are formed. When the realization sets in that we are not even keeping up with the growing problems, panic sets in. Which fires should you fight? How will you fight them? What if you cannot put them out? Frustration, discouragement, and despair begin to affect our lives and it seems like we have begun a downward spiral. Satan is not the source of all our problems, but he can sure capitalize on them at times. In fact, leaning on our own understanding and working in our own strength contribute to a large percentage of our problems. Once we begin to experience the consequences of fleshly decisions we have made, our enemy comes along and suggests to our thoughts that it is God's fault for letting it happen, it is someone else's fault or we are losers and misfits that do not deserve to have any victories in life. The enemy will urge us to move fast to rectify the situation before things become worse and then before we realize it we end up digging ourselves a deeper hole than before. The enemy may even reveal himself to some during this period in order to paralyze them with fear because he is involved and trying to destroy them. Looking objectively at the whole scenario, many of the problems originated because of a lack of focus on the Lord in the first place, (seeking His guidance) and then the problems accelerated even greater because focus on the Lord was not established during the crisis. The enemy will go out of his way to keep a person's attention on the problems, the circumstances or the enemy, so that people will not turn to their real source of strength, the Lord. Focusing on the Lord after a number of problems have developed is not always easy. Thoughts are racing through the mind, there is a great deal of anxiety, there is much confusion and distraction and frankly, you do not feel very spiritual at that moment in time. But this is when it is crucial to stop everything, step back to get a more objective view of the circumstance and then begin to follow the principles that God has revealed in His word. Paul's advice to the Philippians in chapter four can be of great help at this time. 1. "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice." (4:4) In other words, begin to celebrate the Lord, for He is greater than any problem that we can face. Even though you may not feel like it, you must direct your faith to the character and attributes of our God. He is loving and compassionate (He cares), He is all-knowing and all-powerful. He is full of grace (unmerited favor) and mercy. Begin to "rejoice in Him." 2. "The Lord is near." (4:5) He is near because His Spirit is in those who have received Jesus as Savior. He is near because He has promised to hear and answer those who trust Him and obey His commands. (Jn 15:7) He is near because He will not leave us to fend for ourselves. (Heb. 13:5)

3. "Do not worry about anything. . . " (4:6) First of all, what will worrying accomplish? Secondly, worry shows that we are not trusting the Lord to help us. Choose to trust Him no matter what happens. Is not our faith in Him more important than possessions? How long will our possessions last us anyway? They are insignificant in comparison to eternity. 4. ". . . with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." (4:6) Thank God for who He is, for Jesus' sacrifice, for the victory we have in Jesus, for the Holy Spirit that has been given to us, for the promises that God has given us, for God's faithfulness to us in the past and for the future we have with Him forever.. (Spend time praising God - it may be difficult in the circumstances, but if you will persevere, the freedom to praise will come.) Praise will empower your prayer. It will increase your faith. It can renew your strength and help you see God's perspective. And praise can put Satan on the run! After you have praised and thanked God, make your requests known to God. Present your case to Him. Let Him know what you want, why you want it and how it will bring glory to Him. 5. "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (4:7) Now wait for God's peace to come. He has promised that He would guard your hearts and minds with it. Most people finish their time with the Lord before His peace comes. If you have to wait fifteen minutes, a halfhour or more than an hour, wait until it comes. It will be worth it!!! Many have missed this blessing because they were anxious to see something happen or to do something. But if His transforming peace does not come, you will not fully be prepared for what God wants to do with you from that point on. It is this biblical process that our enemy wants to keep us from. He will press us to do something now so that we do not get a chance to "rest in the Lord." ". . . let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Heb 12:1-2) III -Warfare Prayer Gracious God, I acknowledge that You are worthy of all honor, glory and praise. I am thankful for the victorious work of Your Son, Jesus Christ at Calvary for me. I appropriate His victory for myself now as I willingly surrender every area of my life to Your will. Thank you for the forgiveness and righteousness that has been given to me as Your adopted child. I trust in Your protection and provision daily. I know that your love for me never ceases.

I rejoice in Your victory, my Lord, over all the principalities and powers in the heavenlies. In faith I stand in Your victory and commit myself to live obediently for You my King. I desire that my fellowship with You become greater. Reveal to me those things that grieve You and enables the enemy to secure an advantage in my life. I need the Holy Spirit's powerful ministry in my life; bringing conviction of sin, repentance of heart, strengthening my faith and increasing perseverance in resisting temptation. Help me to die to self and walk in the victory of the new creation You have provided for me. Let the fruits of the Spirit flow out of my life so that You will be glorified through my life. I know that it is Your will that I should stand firm and resist all of the enemy's work against me. Help me to discern the attacks upon my thoughts and emotions. Enable me to stand upon Your Word and resist all the accusations, distortions and condemnations that are hurled against me. It is my desire to be transformed through the renewing of my mind, so that I will not compromise with the ways of the world, or yield to the enemy's attacks, but be obedient to Your will. I draw upon those spiritual resources that You have provided me and I attack the strongholds and plans of the enemy that have been put in place against me. I command in the name of Jesus Christ that the enemy must release my mind, will, emotions and body completely. They have been yielded to the Lord and I belong to Him. Lord, enable me to become the person You created me to be. Help me as I pray to be strong in faith. Show me how to apply Your Word in my life each day. I know that I wear the full armor of God when I am committed to and stand firmly upon Your Word. I want You to have the supreme place in my life. I surrender myself completely to You, Lord. You are always faithful and You extend Your grace to me constantly, even when I do not realize it. I claim Your promise of forgiveness, cleansing and healing in its fullness. In faith, I receive the victory today that you have already put in place for me. I do this in the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior with a grateful heart. AMEN SPIRITUAL WARFARE PRAYERS TO DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL. BEFORE DELIVERANCE PRAYER Father, I come before you in JESUS' name, and I thank you for giving me all power and all authority over all demons. I cover myself in the blood of JESUS. I cover all my family

members in the blood of JESUS. I thank you for your giant warring angels that are surrounding us, protecting us from all harm of the enemy. I take my authority and I attack from the third Heaven, and I bind the strongman over my mind, will, emotions, and over my home, in JESUS' name. I command you to leave this area now in JESUS' name. I bind up every demon that was sent to me, transferred to me, or followed me, and I command you to come out of my conscious, subconscious, unconscious mind, all parts of my body, will, emotions, and personality, in JESUS' name. ANOTHER SAMPLE PRAYER BEFORE DELIVERANCE Dear God, in the name of Jesus: According to Romans 10:9 I confess with my lips that JESUS is Lord and in my heart I believe that You raised him from the dead. According to Luke 13:3 I repent of my past sins and I admit and confess that I have sinned and I believe that You are faithful and just to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I call upon You, Lord JESUS to cleanse me from all sin and unrighteousness by Your Blood (1 John 1:7). And as Your word says in Romans 10:13 Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. I confess and repent of occult practices such as (witchcraft, fortune telling, horoscopes, astrology, water witching, etc.) I renounce all occult practices and satan and break all curses associated with those occult practices. According to Galatians 3:13 Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse [doom] of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified); Deut. 21:23. I confess and repent of all sins listed in Deuteronomy 27 and 28 and break the curses associated with these sins. I confess and repent of my iniquities and my father's iniquities according to Leviticus 26:40 and I break the curses associated with these iniquities. I break and loose myself from all evil soul ties with my mother, father, brother, sisters, spouses, former spouses, former sex partners, pastors, churches, friends, etc. Lord JESUS: I forgive my mother, father, brothers, sisters and anyone else who has ever hurt me, including all whites, blacks, indians, etc. Matthew 6:15, 18:21, 22, 35; Luke 11:4 (Lord's prayer). I break and loose myself and my family from all curses that have been and are being placed upon me and my family, including any demons being sent to us: curses of witchcraft, physic thoughts or prayers, ungodly intercessory prayers; all words spoken in anger, hurt, sorrow, or bitterness; all incense being burned for or against us, in JESUS' name. AMEN!

Iniquities are like the sins of the fathers. INIQUITIES Leviticus 26:40 But if they confess their own and their fathers' iniquity in their treachery which they committed against Me - and also that because they walked contrary to Me 41 I also walked contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies - if then their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they then accept the punishment for their iniquity, 42 Then will I [earnestly] remember My covenant with Jacob, My covenant with Isaac, and My covenant with Abraham, and [earnestly] remember the land. A. Confess B. Repent C. Ask forgiveness OF: 1. Own iniquities 2. Ancestors' iniquities going back 4 generations (or further as the Lord gives discernment) 3. Spouses, former sex partners, and their ancestors' iniquities going back 4 generations CONFESSION Heavenly Father, I confess my iniquity of __________________ I confess on behalf of my ancestors going back 4 generations their iniquity of _____________________________. I confess on behalf of my spouse and my previous spouses and former sex partners and their ancestors going back 4 generations, for their iniquity of ________ _________________________. REPENTANCE I repent of my iniquity of _________________. I repent on behalf of my ancestors, spouse, previous spouses and former sex partners and their ancestors going back 4 generations, for their iniquity of _________________________. FORGIVENESS

Lord, I ask your forgiveness for my iniquity of ____________. I ask your forgiveness on behalf of my ancestors, spouse, former spouses and former sex partners and their ancestors going back 4 generations, for their iniquity of ____________. SOUL TIES I break all evil soul ties with these people in JESUS' name

CURSES Exodus 20:5 and 34:7 Numbers 14:18 Deuteronomy 5:9; 11:26-28; 23; 27 and 28 Malachi 3:9 Confess, repent and ask for forgiveness of sins and iniquities. Upon the authority of JESUS Christ, which I have as a Believer, and in the Name of JESUS and by the Power of His Blood I break the power of every curse due to sins and iniquities of drunkenness, adultery, godlessness, faithlessness, idolatry, etc. WEATHER DEMONS Believe it or not, but foul weather can be caused by demons, which means we have authority over them in that area too. Time and time again, we have prayed against the severe weather, and it either stops in its tracks or heads the other way. It must be noted, however, that if God wants to allow your neighbors property to be damaged, the storm will come through, but your property can be safeguarded, IF you are right with the Lord. Job 1:19 tells us of a great whirlwind from the desert that killed Job's children. Acts 27:14 tells us of a typhoon type wind that came upon Paul at sea. In the Name of JESUS, I bind all demons that cause hail, excess heat and cold, lingering domes, fire, earthquakes, tornados, lightning, damaging winds, floods, hurricanes, bad weather of all kinds. I bind CHANGO, OXUN, EUROCLYDON, BAAL, SEIR, LEVIATHAN, HADADRIMMON, AMURR, BASILISK, and all others. Father, I ask you to send your warring angels (Matthew 26:53) into the heavenlies to do battle with these demons, to knock them off their thrones, take their crowns from their heads, and to write on their foreheads that they have been

defeated by the Lord JESUS Christ. Father, I ask that you send the warring angels to block these demons from coming into our city, state, or county. I ask for warring angels to be placed around our property and home for protection from these demons. In JESUS Name, I cover my property, home, possessions and family in the Blood of JESUS. Amen. SOME WEATHER DEMONS BY NAME CHANGO - (prince) controls thunder, lightning, fire. OXUN - god of thunder and lightning. EUROCLYDON -east wind (Acts 27:14) Levant - a surge of the sea, raging, wave BAAL - god of thunder SEIR - prince LEVIATHAN - Job 41:1; Psalm 74:14; Psalm 104:26; Isaiah 27:1 HADADRIMMON - west semitic storm-god, thunder AMURR - amorite storm god HURRICANE - means god of evil TORNADO HAIL LIGHTNING FLOODING WIND FIRE EARTHQUAKE BASILISK SENDING THE JUDGMENT OF GOD These Scriptures, Deuteronomy 30:7, Psalm 109, 140, and Isaiah 54:17 are just four of many Scriptures that offer us some protection against people coming against us.

ANOTHER ANTI-WITCHCRAFT PRAYER Father, In JESUS Name, I break and loose myself from all witchcraft curses and evil and demons being sent to me and my family. As your war club (Jeremiah 51:20-23) and weapons of war, I break in pieces the walls of protection that the satanists and witches have put up and I return the evil and demons back to them. Exodus 22:18 I send the judgment of God to the satanists and witches sending anything our way, in JESUS Name. I heap coals from the altar of God upon their foreheads in JESUS Name. I cover me and my family with the Blood of JESUS and ask for warring angels to be placed around us for protection. I break and loose us from psychic power, thoughts and prayers. I break and loose us from words spoken in hurt, anger, sorrow or bitterness. I break and loose us from the power of incense and candles being burned on our behalf. I break and loose us from ungodly intercessory prayers in JESUS Name. Amen. FINANCES Father, In JESUS Name, I bind all demons that would cause me to have job failure or money failure. I bind all demons that would keep me from receiving all money, possessions, inheritance, jobs, promotions, bonuses or raises that are rightfully mine. In JESUS Name, I command the demons to return these to me sevenfold. Father, I ask that you send your angels out to gather these and bring them to me in JESUS Name. I loose the blessings of Deuteronomy 28 upon me in JESUS Name. Amen. (Note: having unicorns in your home or an Italian Horn can cause finance problems. This can be statues or anything else.) HEALTH Father, In JESUS Name, I bind all demons of infirmity, sickness, disease, illnesses of all kinds. I loose myself from these demons and I loose the healing virtue of JESUS Christ into my body. (Be sure and cast out all of these demons). SLEEP Father, In JESUS Name, I bind all demons of the night, nightmares, bad dreams, torment, sleeplessness, torture. I command these demons to loose me and come out of me, and I ask that you protect my mind while I sleep, in JESUS Name. SPIRITUAL WALK WITH THE LORD AND ANOINTING Father, In JESUS Name, I ask for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of Your Word. I loose the sevenfold Spirits of God in me in JESUS Name. Be sure to anoint your home. Include all doors and windows, and bind the demons and command them to leave. You can do this in your office also.

This is an organized kingdom with delegated authorities, world rulers and wicked spirits. 3. We must sound the trumpet, clothe ourselves for battle, take up our spiritual weapons, know our enemy, and attack. 4. Satan has limitations, methods of attack, and schemes. He temps us, accuses us, and deceives us. 5. Methods for disarming the strong man include researching the past, repenting of all sins, forgiving all others, recognizing God's purpose, ministering with compassion, praying with all prayer, and speaking to the mountain. 6. The boot camp of spiritual warfare is in our local churches, working with the sheep, and ministering deliverance to them one by one. 7. Ground level warfare is casting demons out of people. Strategic level warfare is coming against territorial spirits. 8. God sets the battle plan. 9. We have the authority to pull down strongholds. It was given to The Twelve, The Seventy, and to The Church. 10. The warfare should be led by those who have spiritual jurisdiction over their territory. 11. We should pull down strongholds. We should bind and loose. 12. Christ's Church, through the exercise of her authority, can change the course of history. 13. You should continue in spiritual warfare until victory comes. Be prepared to wrestle with the enemy. Keep your faith. Remain steadfast in prayer and spiritual warfare. 14. Our strength in the Lord is derived through spiritual exercises: daily prayer and Bible Study, fasting, fellowship with other believers, praise, worship, our testimony, and walking in holiness.

15. We are dealing with principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, and spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenlies. 16. Wickedness includes perverseness, greed, witchcraft, occult, cults, false religions, New Age Religion, etc. 17. We must forgive everyone no matter what they did to us. 18. We must sanctify ourselves as individuals, and cleanse the Church corporately. 19. After we have cleansed ourselves, we simply speak to the principalities and powers in the authority of Jesus' Name. 20. Put aside jealousy, doctrinal questions, and other factors that separate Christians and churches from each other. Pull down ignorance, fear, and prejudice. 21. Help those who are bound by blindness, disease, poverty, and fear in the mental, physical, spiritual, and material areas.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE IN THE HEAVENLIES Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come (Eph. 1:21). And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Eph. 2:6). For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph. 6:12) Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). Seated in heavenly places, far above evil, having power over the enemy, we bind and cast down the demonic chain of command: Might, Thrones, Nobles, Kings and Princes over Kingdoms, Principalities, Dominions and Powers, Generals, Rulers, Captains, Centurions and Strongmen, Rulers of Darkness of this World and Spiritual Wickedness in High Places. We send legions of warring angels to attack. We lose the powers of God to do a mighty battle. We bind every force of evil and loose every force of good that we have the power and authority to do so. We break curses, vexes, hexes, spells and demonic ties.

We use every verse in the Holy Bible that wars against the demonic forces. We bind and loose spirits. We command civil war in Satan's Kingdom. We loose the Love of God, Price that Jesus Paid, Holy Spirit, Word of God, Blood of Jesus and Cross of Jesus against the forces of evil. All these things we do in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Master and Savior, and for the Holy Trinity. DECLARATION AGAINST EVIL Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Ps. 97:10 Through thy precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Ps. 119:104 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph. Amos 5:15 I hate everything that God hates. I hate sin and iniquity. I hate Satan, demons and evil forces. (The opposite of this declaration is that you love the above.)

TACTICS TO WIN THE WAR AGAINST SATAN Scripture Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12) Opening Prayers Forgive us for failure to align ourselves perfectly with God's will, known sin and rebellion, emotional stress and trauma, submissions to an ungodly cover, inherited curses, worldly art and music, ownership of unclean objects, failure to cleanse property and places; unforgiveness, idolatry or a lack of separation from the things of the world. We ask for forgiveness, confess contact with the occult, close doors to Satan, break curses, renounce psychic bondage, cut evil soul ties, loose the mind, restore the fragmented soul, confess sins of the fathers, surrender to Jesus, and renounce all evil.

Commands use our weapons against the kingdom of darkness. Satan we are closing every door that you may have opened in us from evil contacts. Jesus Christ became a curse on the cross for us and blotted out the handwriting of ordinances against us. We break the curses back to Adam and Eve, and destroy legal holds and grounds that the demons have to work in our lives. We bind the spirits power and loose ourselves from their holds. We break demonic soul ties. We ask for the necessary spiritual gifts and especially the gift of discernment to minister to the people. We ask for the anointing of the Holy spirit and the authority of Jesus Christ. We have been given power and authority over Satan and his army. We send angels with boxes to separately seal each demon in, chain and gag the demons, read scripture to the demons day and night, and fill the boxes with the Glory of God. We loose the angels to spin the demons minds round and round, to chase and harass, to bruise, crush and flatten the heads of the serpentine spirits, and to snip off the tails of the scorpion spirits. We order the princes and rulers to be bound with chains and thrown down before the other spirits, and their foreheads to be written in red letters that Jesus Christ is my Lord. We command the lesser spirits to attack the traitors in the camp and throw them out. We release the spirit which attacked the Midianites in Gideon's day. We command the demon's answers to stand up in the Judgment We send the warrior angels with swords to chain the rulers and throw the fire of God on them. We ask that the demons be cut into pieces and scattered over the dry places. You are defeated by Jesus and must obey His commands. We adopt each other as spiritual sons and daughters, and cover them with the Compassion and Love of God. We use love as a weapon. We command the demons to manifest only as God permits. We use tongues of men and angels to expel demons. We bind powers over our area, break assignments from powers in the heavenlies to demons in the people, and ask for legions of covering angels for protection. We bind the strong man and his spirits in everyone. The Lord Jesus rebuke you. We command that you confess that Jesus Christ is your Lord. We ask for the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We anoint with oil symbolic of the Holy Spirit. We intercede for our loved ones. We command the ruling spirits to cast out their underlings. We command the angels to assist in the work of deliverance as directed by God. We break evil curses, vexes, hexes, jinxes, psychic powers, bewitchments, potions, charms, incantations, spells, witchcraft and sorcery. We break all cords, snares, controls

and bondages. We ask that the Power of God be manifested. We command the demons to go to Tartarus with the fallen angels, or wherever Jesus sends them. We use the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ and cover us with the Blood of the Lamb. We agree with The Covenant of the Blood. We use the Psalms as imprecations and pronouncements against the enemies of God, and call down the wrath of God upon spiritual foes. We will sing songs about the Blood of Jesus. We command that every knee to bow and tongue to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. We come against unholy spirits, fallen angels, demons, devils, empire of evil, and the entire Kingdom of Satan in humans and animals. We come against Councils, Principalities, Powers, World rulers, and Wicked spirits in Heavenly Places. We come against Chiefs and Kings, Princes, Kingdoms, Dominions, Generals, Rulers, Captains, Centurions, Strongmen, and Imps. Closing Prayers We pray for healing from the works of the demons. We bind all remaining demons until they can be cast out or leave of their own accord. We ask angels to be stationed on our properties to guard us. We loose godly spirits from the Lord to operate in our lives. We agree to cleanse our beings, possessions and homes of unclean objects.

BY THIS I OVERCOME THE DEVIL 1. Through the Blood of Jesus, I am redeemed out of the hand of the Devil (Eph. 1:7). 2. Through the Blood of Jesus, all my sins are forgiven (Psa. 107:2). 3. The Blood of Jesus, God's Son, continually cleanses me from all sin (1 John. 1:7). 4. Through the Blood of Jesus, I am justified, made righteous, just as if I'd never sinned (Rom. 5:9). 5. Through the Blood of Jesus, I am sanctified, made holy, set apart to God (Heb. 13:12). 6. My body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit, redeemed, cleansed, by the Blood of Jesus (1 Cor. 6:19-20). 7. Satan has no place in, no power over me, through the Blood of Jesus and The Word of God (Rev. 12:11). •

In Him (Jesus) we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor. Which He

lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence) (Eph. 1:7-8). •

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has delivered from the hand of the adversary (Psa. 107:2).

But if we (really) are living and walking in the Light, as He (Himself) is in the Light, we have (true, unbroken fellowship with one another), and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt (keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations) (1 John. 1:7).

Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ's blood, how much more (certain is it that) we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God (Rom. 5:9).

Therefore, Jesus also suffered and died outside the (city's) gate in order that He might purify and consecrate (sanctify) the people through (the shedding of) His own blood and set them apart as holy (for God) (Heb. 13:12).

Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received (as a Gift) from God? You are not your own.

You were bought with a price (purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own). So then, honor (your) God and bring glory to Him in your body (1 Cor. 6:19-20).

And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death (holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing).
