[email protected] Abstract With the wake of fierce market driven economy, textile industry has strived for new developments. Textile industry has gained significant thrust in recent years due to advances in computational hardware and software. Application of Digital Human Modeling (DHM) and simulation technology has added unprecedented advantages by integrating pro-active virtual ergonomics evaluation techniques into the design and manufacturing processes of textile. Present paper is perhaps the first to review the status of applications of DHM in textile industry including garment, apparel, fashion and personal protective equipment designs. It is expected that present review would create awareness and interest regarding use of state-of-the-art DHM technology among all associated with textile industry. Future research directions provided here would inspire researchers to carry out further research for making textile industry more human-centric. Keywords – design; digital human modeling; ergonomics; manufacturing; textile industry
