Abstract Introduction: Verticalgroundreactionforces(vGRFs)arecloselyrelatedtobonestrengthanddevelopment.Itistherefore relevanttoassesstheseforcesinbonedisordersaccompaniedwithmuscleweaknesssuchasinosteogenesisimperfectatypeI (OItypeI).ThepurposeofthepresentstudywastoassessthevalidityofvGRFsderivedfromanaccelerometer.Methods: FourteenchildrenandadolescentswithadiagnosisofOItypeI(agerange:7to21;meanage[SD]:14.1[4.8]years;5males) and fourteenhealthycontrols(agerange:6to21;meanage[SD]:12.5[4.2]years;5males)performedthreerepetitionsoffive differentjumpandrisetestsonagroundreactionforceplate.Jumpsandrisesoutcomesweremeasuredsimultaneouslywiththe groundreactionforceplateandanaccelerometer.Results: Pearsoncorrelationcoefficientswereover0.96(p
