GOCO Hospitality has acquired the Glen Ivy Hot Springs Resort, an iconic hot springs resort in operation since 1860 that attracted over 180,000 annual visitors in January 2016. The Hot Springs Resort is within 90 minutes drive from downtown Los Angeles and San Diego. Natural hot mineral spring water flows from deep in the earth and the famous resort enjoys a loyal following with over 80% repeat guests. The acquisition of the 20-acre hot springs and spa includes an adjacent 65-acre plot on which GOCO Hospitality intends to develop a world-class wellness resort community, GOCO Retreat Temescal Valley, surrounded by organic orchards, Santa Ana Mountains National Reserve and the adjacent Glen Ivy Golf Course.

Located on the Baltic Sea coast, and known for its sandy beaches, quiet lagoons, open bays, dramatic peninsulas and headlands, Rügen is Germany’s largest island and an increasingly popular holiday destination. GOCO Retreat Kaiserhof Rügen is located on a hill, in the southeastern part of the island, and offers clear views over the famous Sellin Pier and the Baltic Sea. Originally owned by Otto von Bismarck, the site has been in the hands of the same owner for the past 10 years, who has now decided to develop a wellness retreat on the site of the former, historical Kaiserhof. From 2000-2006 Ingo served as a member of the Operating Board of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. During his tenure, he established the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s Lifestyle Division from the ground up. Responsible for the worldwide operation, design and development of 15 spas on four continents, Mandarin Oriental’s strong holistic roots, unique leisure hospitality concept and wellness centres are credited to his ingenious vision.

During this period, Ingo won 2005’s ‘Spa Personality of the Year’ award for his visionary approach to the integration of wellness and leisure services in the hospitality industry, in addition to the ‘Spa Marketer of the Year’ award in 2006 for his innovative and effective marketing approaches. Under Ingo’s leadership, 2006 saw the Mandarin Oriental voted as ‘Best Spa Company’ by the European Spa Summit and SpaAsia Magazine. Ingo’s design and concept work for the group was also honoured with the prestigious ‘Gold Key Award’ at the ‘Excellence in Hospitality Design’ event held in New York City in 2007. Prior to Mandarin Oriental, Ingo was Managing Director of the Rafael Hotel Groups’ activities in South Asia. He co-founded Ananda in the Himalayas, India’s first destination wellness resort located in the birthplace of yoga and ayurveda, Rishikesh. Clive brings over 18 years of resort, wellness and spa management experience from three continents. Prior to joining GOCO, Clive served at Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa, for over four years. Starting as Wellness Director and later becoming General Manager. The resort was awarded “Destination Spa of the Year, Asia & Australasia” in 2014 at World Spa & Wellness Awards, 2014.

Clive spent two years at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya in Mexico before moving to Mandarin Oriental. Clive was the opening Spa Director at the Four Seasons Resort Provence at Terre Blanche. He also served as Spa Director at Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire spa, voted “Best UK Hotel Spa” in 2006 by Conde Nast Traveller during his tenure, and was Acting Director of Spas at the Four Seasons Resort Bali.

A founding member of GOCO Hospitality, Matthew Brennan, Director of Finance, is responsible for the management of GOCO Hospitality’s finance and accounting team, the management of the market research and feasibility team, the completion and execution of business proposals and contractual consulting and management agreements, and the development of business plans for GOCO Hospitality’s strategic initiatives. Matthew possesses eight years of hospitality consulting experience and has successfully performed consulting services on four continents. To date, Matthew and the market research and feasibility team have completed over 50 market research and feasibility reports for potential wellness resorts, urban spas, and resort spas. When delivering market research and feasibility reports and

other analysis, Matthew and his team work with multi-national hospitality management companies, institutional investors, and independent property developers. Matthew co-authored the textbook chapter titled, “Spa Feasibility - Steps and Processes,” which formed part of the first dedicated spa management textbook; Oxford University Press published this textbook. Matthew brings a unique perspective to GOCO Hospitality and keeps up-to-date with the hospitality industry and the wellness industry. Matthew often contributes to other industry publications.
