Wheel bolt to hub Torque specification: 120 Nm Mounting tires
The tires are installed as usual, but note the following:
Before removing the tire, always let the air out by unscrewing valve insert.
Determine remaining life of sensor battery using vehicle diagnosis, testing, and information system VAS 5051 and replace if necessary.
- Make sure there is no contact between wheels and tire pressure monitoring sensor during installation work. - When cleaning disc wheel (rim), tire pressure must not come into contact with water or be blown with pressurized air. Pressing off tires
- Press outside and inside of wheels against metal valve. Dismounting tires
- Place wheel on tire mounting equipment so that wheel valve is in front of the mounting head. - Dismount wheel. Mounting tires
- Place wheel on tire mounting equipment so that tire valve is stands opposite of mounting head. - Install tires on wheels and fill to specified pressure. Then balance wheel. - Install wheel and tighten.

Wheel alignment General information
Wheel alignment must only performed using VW/Audiapproved wheel alignment equipment! Vehicle alignment checks must always include both front and rear axles. Otherwise, the center position of the steering rack can not be guaranteed! - Perform vehicle alignment using the alignment computer. All information needed for a vehicle alignment can be found in the alignment computer. Current data "Updates" are available in VW Service Net. VW Service Net; Systems; Wheel alignment computer software; Beissbarth VW Service Net; Systems; Wheel alignment computer software; Hunter VW Service Net; Systems; Wheel alignment computer software; Corghi VW Service Net; Systems; Wheel alignment computer software; John Bean Note:
Wheel alignment should not be performed before the vehicle has completed 1000 to 2000 km as then the coil springs have had time to settle.
The individual specifications should be followed as exactly as possible when making adjustments.
Wheel alignment is necessary when:
Vehicle shows handling problems.
Components were damaged and have been replaced.
Axle components were removed.

Vehicles with Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP)
If the steering wheel was repositioned, the steering angle sensor G85 basic setting must be checked! Perform basic setting in Guided Fault Finding using vehicle diagnosis, testing, and information system VAS 5051/ . Use the Goto button in "Functions/Component selection" . Vehicle data sticker Explanation of "PR no." on vehicle data plate
Depending on powertrain and equipment, various suspensions are installed. They are indicated by the PR numbers. The PR numbers determine the specified value application for the vehicle. The suspension installed in a vehicle is documented on the vehicle data sticker for front axle using relevant PR number. The vehicle data sticker is located in spare wheel well and in Maintenance booklet.
Spring blocks, installing

Spring blocks, installing Vehicles with malfunctioning self-levelling suspension will not be set at normal ground clearance. The vehicle can no longer be driven. For example, to drive the vehicle onto an auto transporter or a vehicle hoist, spring blocks must be installed. That will raise the vehicles ground clearance. Caution!
With spring blocks installed, normal driving is not possible.
The vehicle may only be maneuvered back and forth.
When maneuvering the vehicle, the steering wheel must not be turned more than one revolution clockwise or counterclockwise from center.

Spring blocks T10156/1 for left side of vehicle
Spring blocks T10156/2 for right side of vehicle
Front axle spring blocks are different for each side of the vehicle, and their specific usage is indicated on them. - Turn front wheels so they are pointing straight ahead.

Wheel centering seat, protecting against corrosion Valid for light metal- and steel wheels When changing tire, centering seat should be sprayed with Wax spray D 322 000 A2 in order to prevent corrosion between wheel centering seat and wheel. - Remove wheel. - Always clean wheel centering seat at wheel hub and center of rim.
- Apply wax in area of centering - arrow - using a brush. Wax new centering seat - arrow - and not rim contact surfaces. As a consequence, the brakes would become contaminated while driving and thereby result in poor braking. Caution! Wheel bolts, wheel and hub contact surfaces and wheel hub threads must not be waxed. Never apply lubricants or anti-corrosion treatment to threads on wheel bolts. - Install wheel and tighten
