Wacheyea, Bonjour and Hello. The Asinabka Film and Media Arts Festival and Productions Cazabon invite you to join us on Tuesday, June 19th, 2012 for the screening of the documentary film 3rd World Canada. 3rd World Canada shows the very real living conditions present in most remote First Nation communities. The film follows the community of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug (K.I.) over the course of two years as it cares for eight children left behind by, and witnesses to, their parents’ suicide. The screening will be followed by a Q & A with director Andrée Cazabon and a KI community member. Attendees will get a first glimpse into the upcoming 3rd World Canada Tour, to take place in November 2012. A joint venture between Productions Cazabon and the community, the tour invites Canadians to be allies to First Nations people. The KI youth drum group will be touring and speaking with the film. A local filmmaker and Gemini-nominee, Andrée Cazabon’s films have been seen by over 1 million viewers on CBC-Newsworld, TVA, Canal D, Radio-Canada, and CBC Television. Bring a friend and start lasting connections to the north. Date: Tuesday June 19, 2012. 8 - 10pm.
