Abstract The Waist Circumference (WC) and Sagittal Abdominal Diameter (SAD), because of the high correlation with abdominal fat, have been considered indicators of coronary risk. This study evaluated the reproducibility, discriminatory power, the best anatomic measurement site, and cut-offs for WC and SAD to predict Blood Pressure (BP) changes in adults. Were evaluated 161 participants of both sexes, between 20 and 59 years. The anthropometric measures included WC and SAD. The WC and SAD were measurements at four anatomical landmarks. The 75th percentile was considered as an appropriate cut-off for abnormal BP. The tests were performed using Sigma Stat 2.0 and SPSS 17.0.
