What we’re looking for At Made Open, we have been creating digital solutions and services for some time now. Mostly we have been working with associates and contractors on a freelance basis. Now, we are looking to bring technical web development skills in house.

The person we are looking for will take responsibility for our technical projects – developing code, ensuring quality control and taking on a technical leadership position as our digital team expands.

We have some exciting projects lined up (in particular developing our community platform), and so we are looking for someone with a proven track record who can hit the ground running. This will be a challenging role within our dynamic and creative company – based in beautiful Cornwall.

Initially, this will be a 12 month full time contract, based in our peaceful office.

The really important bits: •

You will have worked in a fast-paced agency environment in a similar technical position.

You know MySQL and PHP like the back of your hand.

•

Your JavaScript, JQuery and AJAX is pretty awesome.

•

You know how to produce technical documentation and service specifications.

•

You have a process for ensuring compatibility across browsers and devices.

•

You don’t break a sweat when accessibility is mentioned.

•

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•

You can critically review the code of other developers.

•

You have an energetic and positive attitude.

•

You have an eye for detail - 1 pixel out is not good enough.

The bits that will set you apart from the rest: •

You use Laravel.

•

You can demonstrate that you use Agile / Scrum methodologies.

•

You can turn your hand to semantically marked up HTML5 and CSS if required.

•

You can demonstrate that you love exploring new technologies.

•

You have built cool things that use and display large volumes of open, linked data.

•

You have played with lots of APIs and maybe built your own.
