GETTING STARTED
The EH&S’ Web Based Training System (WBT) allows you to register for training sessions and begin learning with just a few clicks of your mouse. To log into CSU, Chico’s Web Based Training System. a. Open up a web browser and enter the following address: https://ehstraining.csuchico.edu/ Please Note: Make sure to enter “https” b. Enter your CSU, Chico username and password. Select the “Login” button. For example: Username: Password:

c. If you cannot remember you’re CSU, Chico password click on the text “I forgot my password” and you will be sent to a page that will allow you to reset your password. Follow the instructions on that page and your new password will be activated. After your password has been activated, you will need to go back to the web address (https://ehstraining.csuchico.edu/) and attempt to log in again.

NAVIGATING THE SYSTEM
The WBT is designed to allow user's to register for, and take, both live and online trainings.
The toolbar has the options: 3.1
Home: By selecting the “Home” option on the tool bar, the system will default to the “Course Catalog” page that allows you to view the predefined curriculums: “Environmental Health & Safety”; “Professional Development”; and “Supervisor Certificate Program.”

Curriculums If you select one of the curriculums, you will be presented with a list of all the lessons currently available in that curriculum.
To view the details of, or register for a course, click on the text for the course or on the icon “View Course Details.” Some of these courses will be automatically assigned depending on your job duties and others you will be able register for through the LMS. This will provide you with valuable information on each course including, course description, contact information, and lessons involved. For Live training sessions the length and training location will also be provided.

If you select either the course name or the “View Course Details” button you will be able to see the course description, the course contact, and lessons. You will also be able to launch the course by selecting the “Launch/GO” button if you are registered for an online course. Note: The Certificate area is not active at this time.

Course Registration After you have viewed the description of the course, if you are required, or just wish to take the course, all that needs to be done is to register for the course.
Select the “Enroll” button to completed the registration process to attend this course

This confirms to you that you are successfully enrolled for this course
You are now registered for the course. The screen above will automatically appear to confirm "successful enrollment!" At this point you can begin training by selecting the “Launch/Go” button. You will also have the option to complete the training later, or on the date that the live training is being presented.

Lessons Some “Live Courses” may have lessons where the user will have to pick a day and time of a lesson. Follow the on screen directions to pick the appropriate lesson.

USER DATA Courses & Information Selecting “My Courses & Information” will allow you to view your account information, view and launch courses you are registered for, view the history of courses taken, and the expiration date of courses assigned.
“My Courses” gives you the information for all courses enrolled

My Sessions section gives you the information for “Live” courses you are enrolled
When you register for any courses, they will be grouped into Online and Live courses. You may select the “Launch/Go” button to launch an online course. Note: This is the initial page that is open when you log-in to the LMS.

Account Information Account Information displays your first and last name, e-mail address, and username. The Save Changes button does not apply to your user account. You can not change any information in this area. To change account information, contact

My History The “My History” link will allow you to view your training history, display the results of courses you have taken, the total time it took to complete the course and the date it was completed. The date can also represent the date it is due to be completed.
Note: this information can be exported to Excel by pressing the “Export to Excel”.

TAKING A COURSE
Launching an Online Course: Select the “Launch/Go” button on the lesson to launch the online training. This will take you to an intermediate screen that will start the training.

Intermediate Screens: The following is the intermediate screen that you will see before the course starts.

Possible Pop-ups: The following are examples of screens that you might see depending on the setting on your computer: Select the “Yes” button if you are prompted to display the nonsecure items.

If the screen shown below appears, either turn-off your internet popup-blocker, or try to enter the online course again and see if the same problem repeats itself. If you continue to have this problem, your internet popup-blocker MUST be turned off.

Online Training Begins: If you do not get any of the error screens shown above, the online training will begin.
You may use the online training module like a VCR. You can play, pause, and stop the training at any time. 5.5
Module Options: Below is a short description of the training module options:
Use this button to start or resume the online training. Use this button to pause the online training (lesson resumes where left off). Use this button to stop the online training (training will restart from the beginning).

The movement of the probe in the bar represents the progress of the online training. This probe can not be manually moved forward.
At any time after a word or phase has been used during the online training session you can enter a word in the “Search” field and the select the “Submit” button to search the training module's transcripts. The results will appear in the “Slides” box.
Use the vertical "slides" button to view the slides in the presentation.
This feature allows you to review slides that have already been presented.
Select this button to view the slides attached to the online training. Select this button to view the transcript for the online training session. Select this button to take the quiz. You must complete the online training prior to being able to take the quiz. Select this button to exit the training module. For information security purposes, while you are signed in to the web base training system, if your computer sits idle with no action (other than an playing module) over a period of time (10 minutes), the web base training system will time you out. This means that the course you were taking was not completed or scored. You will be required to log back in and start over from the beginning of the training. If you exit a training session before it is completed and the quiz is taken, the course is not considered completed and you will not receive a score or credit.

EXITING THE SYSTEM
To exit the EHS Web Base Training System, use the log-out command button that is located in the upper right-hand corner on just about every screen. This command button is located directly under your name.
On just about every screen, use the “logout” button to exit the system
