What more can be done to embed enterprise into the curriculum of FE and HE courses, particularly those which are not traditionally associated with enterprise ‐ for example social science and humanities subjects? Would Lord Young’s recommendation of having an enterprise module for all courses help to encourage students to consider enterprise; how feasible would this be? How can students be taught the practical skills needed to run a successful business and is this best integrated within subjects or offered as a stand‐alone option? How can teaching staff be supported to deliver enterprise education and are there sufficient learning resources for enterprise education at each level? What more can careers and employability services do to promote entrepreneurship, a possible career path? How could universities do more to build on the growing interest in social enterprise to engage a wider variety of students in starting their own business? How successful are enterprise societies in encouraging an entrepreneurial culture on campus; how can best practice be shared across the country?

Supporting entrepreneurs on campus ‐ incubation, mentoring and the emergence of accelerators What has been the impact of the emergence in recent years of non‐university based ‘accelerators’; to what extent are these programmes a challenge to Business Schools and universities’ enterprise activities? How would a Student Business Start Up Programme, as suggested in the Education for All report, help universities and Business Schools to support student start ups? What can universities learn from the best practice of private sector accelerators, and how can collaboration across sectors be encouraged? Should Government and LEPs do more to encourage universities and colleges to collaborate with each other to provide accelerator services, particularly to support areas without a major university? How can alumni be encouraged to make practical contributions ‐ such as mentoring and offering work experience ‐ to universities’ and colleges’ own accelerator activities? Are current university incubators meeting the needs of graduate start‐ups and how best practice be shared across the HE sector? What effect is the creation of new University Enterprise Zones likely to have on the number of graduates starting their own businesses in these areas, and will they be successful in encouraging non‐graduate prospective entrepreneurs to engage with universities for support?

How effectively is the current range of seed‐funding supporting graduate start‐ups, and what impact are new innovations like crowd funding having in this area? What more can be done to encourage graduates to utilise the Start‐Up Loans programme; should universities and colleges be encouraged to become Delivery Partners? What sort of graduate start‐ups utilise seed‐funding and do graduates need greater support to navigate and take advantage of the range of funding streams available? In what ways can universities and colleges do more to signpost options for finance and support applications for funding?
