The Goals: Gain insight into the process of early school leaving

Professionalize early school leaving prevention methods

Help young people to complete at least an upper secondary education

We achieve these goals by combining knowledge from years of practical experience with knowledge from an innovative research design. We work together with three effective intervention initiatives that prevent early school leaving. The following questions are central:

“ What are crucial developments that make young people decide to leave school prematurely?”

“How do intervention initiatives adjust these developments in order to prevent early school leaving?”

Young people (at high risk of early school leaving) and their mentors (who mentor them because of this risk) fill out weekly questionnaires during six months using our webapps. Based on this data we answer our central questions and test an important part of our theoretical model.
