Job Summary: Responsible for effectively communicating information regarding the church, its mission and activities to appropriate audiences through print and digital channels. Reports to: Director of Modern Worship & University Ministries FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – 20 hours Revised: 3/2/2017 Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Communicate information regarding the church, its mission and activities to appropriate audiences through print and digital outlets such as church website, bulletin, social media, and email. Develop other channels as needed. 2. Regularly design content for worship services including presentations, graphics, and videos. 3. Oversee production and distribution of recordings of weekly worship services. 4. Regularly design digital and print materials including graphics, flyers, newsletters, etc. ensuring that all information is error-free and represents the church’s communication strategy, vision, and brand guidelines. 5. Coordinate social media for church, working closely with ministry leaders to capture and post engaging content. 6. Responsible for website maintenance, ensuring updated information is available online. 7. Develop and execute appropriate communication strategy for the church. 8. Maintain archives of all photos, digital, and printed materials. 9. Participate in appropriate staff meetings. 10. As a student of the industry, continually learn best practices and trends in church communication. 11. Fulfill other responsibilities as deemed necessary by supervisor. College degree in communications, marketing, English, journalism, or related fields preferred (graphic design, video, etc). Required Experience: 1. One year of related field experience. (writing, managing social media, video production, and designing for public relations) 2. Experienced in appropriate software including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite. 3. Experience with Squarespace a plus but not required (no website programming experience necessary). 4. Experience with DSLR cameras and video strongly preferred. Page 1 of 2

Able to strategically utilize social media platforms (Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) 8. Enthusiastic about collaboration with people of various ages and backgrounds. 9. Able to work comfortably with the public. Environmental demands: Must be able to work evenings and weekends as program needs change. Work hours will flex according to seasonal workload or as needed to attend meetings or events. Hours: 20 hours per week. Physical Demands: Must be able to stand/walk up to 2 hours per day (with accommodation) and occasionally climb stairs. Lifting ranges from 10-25 pounds. Frequent reaching, handling, grasping and fine finger manipulation. Occasional twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling and climbing.
