WOMEN: TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR RETIREMENT A persistent gender pay gap1 and many other factors (including a tendency for women to live longer than men) compound the need for women to make strategic decisions about preparing for retirement. Women continue to face financial risks that put them at a disadvantage compared to men when it comes to their future retirement security, according to the nonprofit Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies® report, “Here and Now: How Women Can Take Control of Their Retirement.” The results may surprise you.

Only 53% of women expect to retire after 65 – or not at all.

68% OF WOMEN Say paying off debt is a financial priority, while a quarter more women than men prioritize basic living expenses.

LESS OPPORTUNITY TO INVEST Women are less likely to be offered retirement benefits, partially due to fewer employers offering benefits to part-time workers.
