Building a Culture of Craftsmanship with Students through Project-Based Learning (1 credit)

This workshop-based course will provide background knowledge on how to successfully integrate project-based learning into a K-12 classroom while meeting standards across content areas. Time will be given for the design and development of appropriate project-based learning experiences for participant’s classrooms. By the end of this workshop, participants will have a project-based learning experience they can implement in their classrooms in the future. The text, An Ethic of Excellence by Ron Berger, will be utilized for this course. June 14, 15, and 16

Using SMARTboard and Other Technologies in the Classroom (1 credit)

This course will provide participants with a working knowledge of SMARTboard technology. This course will include the development of original lessons and utilization of SMARTboard exchange. Registrations limited. Laptops with SMARTboard software will be available. June 21 – 24

Exploring Mindset, a Book Study (1 credit)

This summer, explore your Mindset! Carol Dweck's book is a game changer! In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. Virtually all great people have had these qualities. Teaching a growth mindset creates motivation and productivity in the worlds of business, education, and sports. This four day book study is well suited for K-12 educators, administrators and coaches alike! Requirements: participants should purchase and read Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol Dweck before taking the class. This 1 credit book study will be discussion driven and participants will have modest assignments to prepare for the next day's class. June 27 – 30
