A Generic Information System Framework for Exo-planets Data C. Surace, J.-C. Meunier, Y. Granet, M. Deleuil, C. Moutou Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Marseille, CNRS UMR6110, Universit´e de Provence, France Abstract. The recent extended searches of exoplanets carried out over large sample of the stellar population raised new needs. Indeed a deep investigation in the nature and origin of the new planet population could be foreseen only on a well-characterized stellar population. LAM is part of two exo-planets projects (COROT,SPHERE). To allow the characterization and the analysis of the population, two information systems have been implemented based on the SITools framework.
1.
Introduction
For projects on search and characterization of Exo-planets, databases have been built at the Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Marseille (LAM1 . More than only physical data, data with added value processed at LAM are part of the database(statistical results, crossidentification, algorithms, rotation curves...). The goal of these databases is not only to provide data but valuable and searchable information on these data. LAM and the OAMP (Observatoire Astronomique de Marseille Provence) are building-up a VO-pole for data access and Web services under the ENVOL2 project. The LAM specified a VO environment for local data access. Databases will be accessed using VO compliant infrastructure based on SITools.
2.
Models
Based on a relational database the framework covers the multiple relationship and description of the stellar targets and companions. These data are organised with the basic designe concepts described in Figure 1.

Tools SI Tools: A VO-enabling portal for LAM archives
Developed by CNES in partnership with a computing and consulting company, SITools3 provides a customizable portal, a powerful query builder and a set of J2EE-compliant tools. This modular system, which features a virtual Web Service bus, will ease the development of middleware layers enabling interconnection of VO value-added services with existing astronomical datasets. Based on a TOMCAT + STRUTS architecture, the SITools environment allow to connect different databases (Oracle, Postgresql, MySQL) with only one intermediate infrastructure. The Version 4 of SITools allows the cone search and make the databases reachable throughout the Virtual Observatory requests. 3.2.
Configuration Tools
Based on JAVA / SWING we developped tools to configure easily the SITools interfaces. The deployement of SITools interface is made easier and quicker The configuration tool allows, using several Tabs, to set up independently the properties files in a specific and distinct way (see Figure 2). The interface allow to configure datasets, attributes to search for, users, groups and rights, catalogsv, izualisation set up and VO features 4. 4.1.
Implementations CoRoT : EXODAT
COROT4 is a space experiment dedicated to Ultra High precision, wide field, relative stellar photometry, for very long continuous observing runs on the same field of view. It has two main scientific programs working on asteroseismology and search for extrasolar planets simultaneously on adjacent regions of the sky. The EXODAT project aims at providing the information needed for the selection 3

of best targets and preparing the statistical analysis. The CoRoT exoplanet program will observe continuously a set of selected stars during 150 days in order to discover planetary transits. EXODAT will be the first exoplanet database with physical characteristics of parent stars and of their planets. EXODAT currently contains 10 million stars over 100 square degrees centred on two main regions. Access reserved to CoRoT team members provides astrometry, broad band photometry UBVRi, 2MASS, USNO-A2 and DENIS, a sub-set moderate resolution spectra with the derived stellar parameters , Stellar parameters, lightcurves and planet properties. 4.2.
SphereIS : the SPHERE Target Database
The prime objective of the Spectro-Polarimetric Highcontrast Exoplanet Research (SPHERE5 ) instrument for the VLT is the discovery and study of new extra-solar giant planets orbiting nearby stars by direct imaging of their circumstellar environment. The challenge consists in the very large contrast between the host star and the planet, larger than 12.5 magnitudes (or 10 5 in flux ratio), at very small angular separations, typically inside the seeing halo. will greatly contribute to the field of extra-solar planets studies, already very active, particularly by offering direct detections of planets more massive than Jupiter at various stages of their evolution. SPhereIS : Exoplanet database for SPHERE will store the physical data of the target stars and the companion(s). This database will be used as the inputs for observational runs and outputs for storing information of runs and possible detections. Access will be provided to the consortium and then after the proprietary period to the entire scientific community. 5.
Conclusion and perspectives
We provide at LAM ‘Ready to Use’ interfaces and Information Systems for Exoplanetes databases. This infrastructure can be used either in a ‘observational project’, a consortium project, a public project. Inputs and outputs can be customizable to allow different accesses. Inter-connection to Aladdin VO portal is already in function. ConeSearch is implemented and new features are to come (footprint, 3D) Databases and new VO implementations will allow LAM to provide powerful scientific tools applying to public and accessible data. This work is undertaken in collaboration with CDS and CNES. You have some data, let us try to build up you information system. Acknowledgements.
