A Peek at Preschool Bible Story We Are Learning:

Jesus visited His disciples after His resurrection on Easter Sunday. At first they were scared, thinking Jesus was a ghost, but they quickly realized that He was alive! One of the disciples, Thomas, was not with them that first Sunday, and would not believe that Jesus was alive until he saw Jesus face-to-face. Even though we haven’t yet seen Jesus with our own eyes, may we still believe that He is alive! This week’s Bible verse is taken from 1 Thessalonians 4:14 : “Jesus died and rose again.”

Books We Are Reading: Just Enough Carrots by S. Murphy What Do You Do With a Tail Like This? by S. Jenkins More, Fewer, Less by T. Hoban Rumble in the Jungle by G. Andreae What’s Happening at the Zoo? by H. Amery The Magic School Bus…Water Cycle by J. Cole The Mixed-Up Chameleon by E. Carle

Songs We Are Singing: Well, we didn’t get to the instruments last week, so we’ll try again this week! We are also busy learning songs for our spring musical, “The Granny Awards.” I am sending the words home for two of these songs today.

Ways We Are Moving: We are moving with jump ropes! Coordination is key to jumping rope. Some of us will be able to do this easily; for others, we will need some practice!

Skills We Are Practicing: We are learning about zoo animals this week, and I have some pictures for the children to identify and color. We might even try to write the names of the animals next to the pictures! We will be learning two card games: Go Fish (for number recognition and matching) and War (for recognizing more, less and equal). Finally, we will be using our senses to explore different types of seeds.
