Improbable Dialogues: Interprofessional Mixed Methods Research Collaborations A one-day Mixed Methods International Research Association Regional conference focusing on Mixed Methods Research Date: June 19, 2015 Time: 8 a.m. – 4:50 p.m. Place: Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions New College Building 245 N. 15th Street Philadelphia, PA 19102
Featuring John Creswell, PhD as Keynote Speaker Deadline for Abstract Submissions: December 31, 2014 The purpose of this one-day seminar is to bring together researchers from multiple disciplines to focus on improbable interprofessional topical and methodological dialogues through mixed methods research. Within this purpose we hope to create new possibilities for research that could enrich and expand the scope, reach, accessibility, and perspectives on critical issues in a complex global culture. A rapidly emerging global culture presents multidimensional and interconnected domestic and global issues related to social and political challenges in areas such as healthcare, education, public health, public policy, economics, information science, and related domains. It is becoming increasingly apparent that the investigation of these complex problems requires a team approach utilizing the expertise of researchers from divergent
disciplines, multiple worldviews, and varied methodological competencies in order to provide comprehensive and creative solutions. Interprofessional mixed methods research collaborations provide new opportunities for us to comprehensively investigate these problems.
