General Goal: The general goal of this course is to enable the students to comprehend and speak basic simple written and spoken technical English in the field of computer science & information technology as well as preparing them for enrollment in more advanced courses of similar nature. Objectives : By the end of the course, trainees will demonstrate their abilities to do the following : •

Grasp and use a reasonable amount of basic technical terms in their field of study



Comprehend simple to intermediate technical texts of computing & IT



Employ related grammatical structures used in the language of their major



Understand acronyms as they relate to computing and IT



Prepare and orally present technical material covered in class



Write sequences, facts, descriptions, emails, comparisons, and give instructions



Understand spoken language presented in class
