International Corrosion Engineering Conference 2007 Seoul, Korea, May 20-24, 2007
Welcome Greetings Welcome to Seoul and Korea It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to this fascinating and dynamic yet historic city of Seoul for the International Corrosion Engineering
Conference (ICEC).
ICEC2007 is organized by the Corrosion Science Society of Korea (CSSK) and supported kindly by many Korean industries
involving
the
corrosion
engineering
and
technology. The CSSK was established in 1971 with the mission to encourage corrosion research, technical support for industrial corrosion problems and exchange of information and ideas among the members. Currently, the CSSK has about 1200 individual members and 100 corporate members. The CSSK publishes an official journal of Corrosion Science and Technology. The CSSK has been growing with the diversified and sophisticated Korean industries into the world class. The ICEC is designed to provide a forum for the broad spectrum of corrosion engineering and corrosion prevention technology for future industry, with emphasis on the practical aspect of industrial corrosion control. We believe that this conference will provide an excellent forum to exchange high level information and ideas across different corrosion technologies and disciplines. More importantly, we hope that ICEC2007 becomes the best opportunity for each of you to make many friends in the world corrosion community. To help you feel the sense of the Korean culture better, we organized the conference tour with activities including participation in the Buddha´s birthday celebration and visiting traditional folk villages. We hope that the tour will be a wonderful experience to the participants and your stay in Seoul will be enjoyable and memorable. I hope you come and make friends in this attractive city of Seoul and contribute in the advancement of future corrosion science and technology.
