HOW ARE THE PROGRAMS DESIGNED? TERMS: Program: A program is the broad description of a curricula of courses. When it is designed to support the development of a learner over many years in their career, as in this case, it is made up of course levels with each level representing a certification. Course: A set of learning objects grouped by sections (including but not limited to the items below). • Theory Module: The key concepts and information that a learner needs to be introduced to, taken as either lecture or self-paced or on-line module. • How-to Video: A succinct video by an expert showing the completion of a task. • Hands-on Workshop: A key activity for the learner where task instructions and completions are very specific.
Portfolio Assessment: A collection of objective and alternative assessments. • Hands-On Workshop Skills Assessment: A timed and graded skills assessment to demonstrate ability. • Theory Assessment: A timed and graded knowledge assessment to demonstrate understanding.
LEARNING PATHS: To support multiple ‘entry-points’ for learners who have already gained related industry knowledge and technical experience different learning paths are possible. For example an individual who wants to begin by taking DVC Level 2 instead of Level 1 can do so by passing the DVC Level 1 portfolio assessment as a prerequisite.

HOW-TO VIDEO:
The key concepts and information that will prepare the learner to watch the how-to videos or carry out the hands-on workshops.
A succinct video by an expert showing the best-practice completion of a coding or review activity.
Theory modules are presented by an instructor or taken as selfpaced on-line modules.
These how-to videos are excellent examples to watch in advance of carrying out hands-on workshops and useful to use as reference materials for any especially detailed coding tasks.

WHAT IS COVERED IN THE PROGRAM DELTAV CONFIGURATION FOR AUTOMATION ENGINEERS (DVC)?
DVC LEVEL 1: DELTAV FOR CONFIGURATION ENGINEERS This learning path is designed to bring you from zero DeltaV configuration knowledge and skills to become a competent DVC Level 1 certified Automation Engineering professional. Designed for Junior Automation Engineers (0-3 years) and Automation Engineer (2-4 years) with no prior DeltaV platform experience. Training Materials (Online and Classroom) Portfolio Assessment (Hands-On Graded Workshop and Theory Assessment)
DVC LEVEL 2: DELTAV FOR CONFIGURATION ENGINEERS
MULTIPLE ENTRY POINTS
Having gained the skills to plan, design, implement and document a DeltaV system, you will now be eager to configure more advanced features of DeltaV. Choose from several elective modules depending on your specialization. Designed for Automation Engineers (2-5 years) and Senior Automation Engineer (4-7 years). Training Materials (Online and Classroom) Portfolio Assessment (Hands-On Graded Workshop and Theory Assessment)
DVC LEVEL 3: DELTAV FOR CONFIGURATION ENGINEERS Having demonstrated your skills and knowledge in configuring and troubleshooting the majority of DeltaV functionality, you can extend your technical expertise relating to Batch and Phase coding. Designed for Senior Automation Engineer (5-8 years), Lead Automation Engineers (10+ years), and Project Managers (12+ years). Training Materials (Online and Classroom) Portfolio Assessment (Hands-On Graded Workshop and Theory Assessment)
DVC LEVEL 4: DELTAV FOR CONFIGURATION ENGINEERS This learning path covers procedure test execution in addition to designing Operation, Unit Procedure and Procedure documents. Other core content covers the skills in designing an Automation strategy. Choose elective modules for expertise in advanced niche DeltaV tools and functions. This learning path is designed for Lead Automation Engineers (10+ years) and Project Managers (12+ years). WHAT DELTAV CODE BASE AND DOCUMENTATION SET IS USED? CAN THE TRAINING BE CUSTOMIZED TO OUR CODING STANDARDS?
The DeltaV code base used is to specifically training learners in the use of DeltaV for a Life Science industry context. In DVC Level 1 learners will configure a DeltaV control system and implement a control solution for a simple tank, comprising of Inlet and Outlet valves, a Mixing Pump, a Tank Level Indicator, and a Recirculation pump.
