SUNRISE

THE NEW JEWELS OF THE OCEANS

The Sunrise 45m concept is of a long-range displacement yacht capable of accommodating eleven guests in complete comfort, with the ability to be autonomous to the extent of a trans-Pacific crossing or a summer of coastal cruising without refuelling. Conceived by a highly talented team comprised of an experienced yacht owner, designers, engineers and captains, the culminating vessel design has been meticulously thought through, with large service and storage areas. Areas such as a bilge deck with vast walk-in freezers and fridges as well as dry storage, and a professional stainless steel kitchen modelled on that of a gourmet restaurant. Four roomy guest cabins, all with en-suite shower rooms are served by a spacious lobby, which for the ultimate convenience incorporates its own fridge and icemaker. On the main deck, the owner’s suite as well as a stunning bedroom and huge bathroom, also features an office and walk-in closet. The formal dining room seats twelve and the intimate lower salon, which opens aft onto the main deck lounge area has a full wet bar and comfortable lounge couches. The bridge deck accommodates the fully GMDSS equipped wheelhouse, captain’s cabin, ship’s office and a vast upper salon-sky lounge, also with a large wet bar for entertaining. The aft bridge deck has lounging chairs and a more al-fresco style dining area, again for twelve. The sun deck has another full guest dining area, served by a large barbecue as well as a pantry and food lift from the galley and the six-person jacuzzi is surrounded by a large cushioned sunbathing surface for spreading out to dry off or just to get a tan.

The interior design has been entrusted to the talented offices of Franck Darnet Design who, although a relative newcomer in motoryacht interiors, has a solid reputation in the large sailing yacht sector, working with prestigious architects such as Philippe Briand. With the prime focus on the visual effect and creation of spatial awareness throughout the yacht, Franck Darnet Design has designed varying options for the Sunrise 45 interiors, from modern clean to a rich classic gentleman’s club feel. In the living area, the vast windows allow panoramic views of the ocean or of your latest beautiful anchorage. Between the main lounge and the formal dining area, here the interior options either create a striking open layout, or a more intimate classic dining room setting and here the furniture can discretely house a large flat screen television. The Owner’s Suite, a magnificent spacious area complete with its own lounge corner to allow quiet relaxation, a huge walk in wardrobe/dressing room and a separate study to allow a quiet space for work, away from the guest party while still allowing uncompromised ocean views. To complete this suite, the elegant full width bathroom as you would expect has conveniently two vanitory areas, two wc rooms, one with shower cubicle, which can be separated by sliding doors on either side of a gorgeous bath. The different interior propositions, classic or contemporary, developed for the Sunrise 45 offer prospective owners a choice characterised by a particular selection of wood, fabrics and furniture.

All the systems engineering, including 3-D engine room and piping throughout the boat, is provided by Valentijn Design of Holland, who have worked with the most prestigious shipyards of Holland, Europe and the world. Electrical and PLC/monitoring engineering is by Schneider-Télémécanique industrial specialist Actys of France who have developed a rugged and trustworthy fully classified power management and monitoring system for a dozen large yachts. Local classification coordination and production engineering is assumed by the competent team of Karatas Yacht Design of Tuzla/Istanbul, who have fifteen years of local knowledge.

SUNRISE YACHTS A NEW FORCE IN SHIPBUILDING Highly successful in the logistics sector and then through property development of industrial complexes in Germany and in luxury residential properties in Florida, Herbert P. Baum’s latest development was brought about through his passion for sailing. For some time, initially only as an owner, the dynamic German businessman was contemplating having a 40metre motoryacht built, from a design by Paolo Scanu. With a developer’s eye, his interest heightened when researching the yacht building industry in the eastern Mediterranean, particularly in Turkey. Indeed, a number of prestigious launches has brought the potential of

A new yard to build a new brand, Sunrise Yachts. Situated in the beautiful Antalya area of the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey, this modern yard sits within a sheltered harbour complex, with facilities covering more than eight thousand square metres. The site comprises two sheds, each measuring one hundred metres by sixteen metres, as well as one shed measuring eighty by sixteen metres. The latter

His experience as a businessman told him that in shipbuilding, just as in any other industry, the true success of a project is directly proportional to the

yard is to attain the quality standards expected by any demanding owner. The prime consideration – to build yachts in a cost-effective way, equalling or even exceeding the quality and finish offered by other European shipbuilders, this is the challenge for Sunrise Yachts.

In every direction, the heritage of the area is evident from its proliferation of renowned archaelogical sites. Viewed from the Taurus mountains, the modern production plant on the Mediterranean coast, sits within easy reach of the centre of Antalya and its international airport, in an area becoming well served from investment by world class hotels.

There was much discussion and research with regard to the yard’s first project, growing from the initial 40 metres to 45 metres, after an analysis of the rise in demand for this type of vessel, having identified its full strategic and commercial potential. After twelve months of work, Sunrise Yachts completed the planning

and engineering of the two sister ship motoryachts, with naval architecture by Paolo Scanu’s Italian studio. The Sunrise 45 has been designed specifically as a long-range cruiser, based on the specifications drawn up by an expert owner, together with the designers, engineers and captains, all of whom have years of experience and expertise in this field. The yacht has a displacing bottom hull, with bulbous bow. The hull has a system of zero speed gyroscopic stabilisers with an electro-hydraulically controlled system for the side fins, which are non-retractable. The engines and large fuel-tank capacity have been chosen to achieve total autonomy on transoceanic distances. This allows coastal cruises lasting an entire summer season without having to refuel. This is another reason why the vessel has such large service and storage areas. The big engine room is insulated against vibration with the most advanced ceramic technology. It has a separate, air-conditioned control room, as well as a separate, double-soundproofed room for the generator sets. The yacht has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and is built to comply with current regulations in order to obtain the following classifications: Lloyd’s, ✠100A1, SSC yacht mono G6, LMC, and MCA.

As well as offering various interior options, why stop there. Your yacht can be finished to a more flamboyant style if you desire. With the first two yachts at 45 metres, below the 500 gross tons category, Sunrise Yachts is also currently developing designs for larger yachts, at 55 metre and also a 65 metre, to add to its current production range.
