With the existing analogue TV service being phased out many viewers may be unable to receive the new digital TV signal. The government has set up a new system to provide all of the channels received in the city via satellite to “Black Spot” area’s and people travelling around Australia. The new system has no ongoing fees. This new service comes from the same satellite (Optus C-1 156° East) as the current Optus Aurora service. Aurora is the old platform with analogue TV channels. If you are an existing Aurora customer there is no need to re-position your dish, just simply plug the new VAST decoder in and the new decoder will tune in the new service for you. The VAST service requires a small 75cm Ku dish and a 10.7LNB, the access card comes supplied with each decoder.
