About the Author Maggie Clark is a humorist who started writing as soon as she could hold a pen. As a child, she tried to frustrate her first grade teacher into teaching her cursive, and she published many a book of pencil-written poems bound with a well-placed staple or two. Now she and her alter ego, Hugo Mouse, are starting a new series of Taking Life Not Too Seriously books. The first is a funny book full of very short, slice of life stories journaled by her and Hugh Mouse and illustrated with her own charmingly humorous color drawings sure to make you smile. Maggie grew up in a family-operated small-town newspaper business, the Duplin Times, in Kenansville, North Carolina, and wrote a weekly column for the paper during her high school years. Later, but years ago, as a newspaper columnist at the Green Lake Reporter in Wisconsin, she gained an enthusiastic audience in her vignettes about everyday life. After returning to the South, she continued writing her whimsical stories, even while working as an award-winning professional fine artist.
