Prize money for this year: Top 3 prizes increased further from last year. 1st Prize Rs.45,000 2nd Prize Rs.37,500 3rd Prize Rs.30,000 - Guaranteed cash prizes for top 10 finishers In addition, the Delhi tournament shall continue to maintain its focus on increasing the prize pool for non-top-10 finishers: - Rating Band prizes of Rs. 5K to 7.5K each for highest finishers rated B,C and D (roughly corresponding to 75th, 50th and 25th percentile of registered entries as per their SAI / WESPA ratings) and for the top under-18 player - To encourage under-18 players, there will be trophies and prizes for the top 3 under 18 finishers. In addition, to encourage new local talent, the top 3under 18 finishers from Delhi will get trophies and their entry fees will be fully refunded. Entry fees will also be fully refunded for any other under 18 players that finish in the top half of the field and haven't received any other prizes. All Under 18 participants will get certificates from the Scrabble Association of India. And some fun awards: - Non-cash spot prizes for each round on first two days (like last year) - Rs 1000 each for highest scoring words on Day 1 and Day 2 - Rs 1000 each for the biggest upset win on Day 1 and Day 2 A total of 24 games proposed .Day 1 9:00-9:45 a.m. Registration. Entry fees stay the same as last year: Rs 2,100 for SAI members and under 18s; Rs 2400 for all others. (or $35/$40 if you prefer to pay in USD).
