56th Street Railroad Crossing Improvement Project 56th Street Closing between Hillsborough Avenue and Henry Avenue for Railroad Crossing Work TAMPA, FL – Starting early morning on Friday, January 15, the CSX Transportation Inc. (CSX), will replace a railroad crossing at 56th Street in East Tampa. During construction 56st Street will be closed between Hillsborough Avenue and Henry Avenue. Motorists will be detoured around the closed area using Hillsborough Avenue, 40th Street and Busch Boulevard. This closure should last approximately 16 days, weather permitting. During this closure motorists will NOT be able to travel through the work zone. Advanced warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the detour. Access to local businesses will be maintained during this closure. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits and drive with caution through this area.
