We are Kvadrat
We are Kvadrat Kvadrat has been leading the field in textile innovation since 1968 when our company was first founded. We produce contemporary high-quality textiles, and textile-related products for architects and designers to specify in public spaces and for domestic interiors. We are a progressive design company, constantly exploring the boundaries of textile design and the creative application of our products in a diverse range of areas. Kvadrat is Scandinavian, originating from the small town of Ebeltoft in the northern part of Denmark. Our long heritage of design excellence is a constant source of inspiration to us, although today we are a cosmopolitan company with a global perspective and a worldwide clientele.

New frontiers At Kvadrat we are committed to the continued improvement of textile design, manufacturing and use. We use the newest production techniques to optimise the quality, performance and longevity of our products, whilst minimising their environmental impact. Recently, a new chapter of industrialisation has begun. By investing in key European textile suppliers, Kvadrat has become directly involved in manufacturing processes and has created a direct, seamless supply route between the loom and our global clients. We are equally committed to exploring innovations in textile applications; how our products are put to use is of great importance to us. We regularly collaborate with some of the world’s best creative thinkers and talents in exploring textile use.
Brand breakdown Kvadrat is, in fact, four very different specialist brands: Kvadrat produces high-quality upholstery, curtains and textile-related products, FANNYARONSEN offers exclusive textiles and accessories, Kvadrat Soft Cells make engineered acoustic panels and Kvadrat Danskina produces premium rugs.
Product Technologically superior and high-quality, we make our textiles to last. Our versatile collection reflects our commitment to colour, simplicity and innovation. All of our textiles are manufactured in specialised mills in Europe and Japan. Our quality product begins with the best raw materials: we source the finest yarns for each of our fabrics and our grade A wool comes from Australia, New Zealand and Norway. Also, we prefer our products to be made by those with the most expertise and skill. That is why we manufacture the majority of our woollen fabrics in England, and our Trevira CS products in The Netherlands, where the abilities of local craftsmen are proven and where we are able to achieve the high quality we demand. We offer our customers choice: our collections are made up of 150 designs and more than 2200 colours. Sometimes, even that is not enough. In those cases we offer our ‘customised’ service of bespoke colours, cuts or weaves. Longevity is important too; our textiles come with a 10-year warranty and comply with all the relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
Attentive service We work closely with our clients to ensure we deliver high-quality, innovative designs that match their budget. An end-to-end service ensures our clients, and we, are fully satisfied with the end result. Our global network of local showrooms and sales teams is ever expanding and we are currently represented in 20 countries. This puts us in an excellent position to meet our clients’ exact requirements, wherever they are.
Commitment to sustainability We have a deep respect for natural and social environments. It is reflected in our product, processes, the technologies we use and the supplier relationships we foster. And we are always working to improve, making sure that we are doing everything we can to retain the highest possible ethical and environmental standards. Kvadrat was one of the first companies in Denmark to implement the ISO 14001 environmental management system. The environmental credentials of many of our woollen textiles have been recognised with EU ‘Flower’ Ecolabels.
Art and design Our long history of influencing contemporary design culture is something we are proud of. We regularly collaborate with the world’s finest creative talents in projects that allow us to push the boundaries of textile manufacturing and application. Artists like Olafur Eliasson, Thomas Demand and Rosemarie Trockel or designers and architects like Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, David Adjaye, Peter Saville, Patricia Urquiola and Tord Boontje and many more besides, have used Kvadrat textiles as the starting point for something extraordinary.
Product development Our internal product development team is the front line when it comes to our exciting collaborative work. Whether it is a renowned designer like Alfredo Häberli, a colour engineer like Giulio Ridolfo or a weaving expert such as Frans Dijkmeijer, we work closely with a long list of international talent to skillfully turn ideas into reality.
References We collaborate with some of the world’s most prestigious companies, and our client portfolio is ever expanding and further reaching.
