ACCESS MANAGER, TEAM ACCESS B.C. JOB CREATION PARTNERSHIP PROJECT 3 FULL-TIME TERM POSITIONS (APPROXIMATELY 11 MONTHS) Founded on the legacy of Rick Hansen’s Man In Motion World Tour, the Rick Hansen Foundation (RHF) is a Canadian registered charity with the vision of creating an inclusive world where people with disabilities are healthy and living to their full potential. Through our programs and partnerships, we break down barriers for people with disabilities by changing attitudes, creating accessible spaces and inspiring an inclusive society. With our partner in the community – the Victoria Disability Resource Centre (VDRC) – and support from the B.C. Ministry of Social Development & Social Innovation’s (MSDSI) Community and Employer Partnerships (CEP) funding, we are pleased to be launching the Team Access B.C. Job Creation Partnership (JCP) Project. The aim of this initiative is to pursue the goals of Accessibility 2024, which encompasses: Accessible Built Environment; Employment; Inclusive Communities; and the Consumer Experience. NUMBER OF POSITIONS  Two (2) at the RHF – Richmond, BC  One (1) at the VDRC – Victoria, BC POSITION SUMMARY You will be responsible for the daily management of the JCP Participants’ on and off-site activities (i.e. assigning work, evaluating performance, overseeing workflow processes; mentoring staff), as well as apprising the Project Manager on the status of the JCP Participants’ activities, milestones, performance and evaluation. You will also ensure that the physical site surveys of the built environment are in compliance with RHF’s standards for rating accessibility and inclusive design. Reporting to the Manager, Built Environment Accreditation Programs, you will work closely with the other Access Managers, various RHF work units and representatives from the VDRC. You will also liaise with case managers from the WorkBC Employment Service Centre, MSDSI and its Employment & Labour Market Services Division (ELMSD) and other government stakeholders. Some travel will be required. RESPONSIBILITIES  Recruit, select, manage and supervise JCP Participants;  Ensure activities and milestones are met each month by the Project Holder and JCP Participants;  Apprise the Project Manager on all levels of performance by JCP Participants;  Provide input and advice on accessibility, inclusive design, disability awareness and sensitivity;  Produce comprehensive reports for each JCP Participant on a monthly basis;  Monitor and evaluate JCP Participants’ understanding of the assessment training courses;  Ensure JCP Participants provide effective feedback on courses, rating system and tools;  Schedule inclusive design/accessibility surveys with clients and assign JCP Participants to conduct site surveys in accordance with the Rick Hansen (RH) rating criteria;  Assist JCP Participants with establishing professional relationships on-site and throughout the duration of the project;  Review photos and video footage from site surveys to ensure understanding and compliance with rating system and inclusive design;  Oversee and ensure quality control of surveys, data and report writing by JCP Participants;

Ensure statuses related to site surveys and commitments to stakeholders/clients are tracked effectively, as well as ensure that the data is efficiently managed and stored; Support site surveys as needed and offer guidance/expertise to JCP Participants; Provide survey data and related reports to the RH adjudicators for verification; Manage budget and purchases, as well as track costs, arrange travel and help ensure the Project Manager is compliant with Finance policies and HR obligations; Manage effective circulation and distribution of any technology and equipment; Assist with the project’s online presence; Ensure accountability and transparency of the project in collaboration with the Project Manager; Provide updates, feedback and progress reports to the Access & Inclusion team, VDRC, MSDSI and ELMSD as needed; and Attend public and private events as needed.

REQUIREMENTS  4+ years of experience managing/supervising staff;  Effective people management skills, including experience working with volunteers and staff; and  Ability to travel within BC. PREFERENCES  Post-secondary degree/diploma in Architectural and Building Technology, Interior Design, Engineering, Program Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Healthcare, Disability Studies or a related discipline;  3+ years of experience in construction, architecture, design, or disability health/issues;  Experience working with individuals with disabilities or disability groups;  Knowledge/experience with accessibility and/or disability issues;  Knowledge of building code and ability to envision the design and build of interior/exterior spaces; and  Ability to interpret building/construction plans.
