Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with applicable state and DEQ administrative, human resources, FOIA and other Agency policies and procedures. Demonstrates effective use of a personal computer; employs MS software towards completion of tasks, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experienced in applying scientific and engineering principles in the inspection of permitted and unpermitted petroleum storage tank facilities to protect human health & environmental quality.

Demonstrates the ability to understand basic principles & processes for petroleum storage tank facility design & operations.

Knows, from experience, the relative effectiveness of different types of petroleum storage tank & facility design & operation to prevent releases. Can read, interpret & analyze technical & operational documents & plans.

Recognized by coworkers as an expert in scientific & technical matters and is frequently consulted on complex technical issues. Serves on regional/state/national workgroups and provides technical input for program updates/changes. Demonstrates a broad understanding of environmental science and how the air, water, and land resources interface & are impacted by pollution of all types.
