SIMATIC RF200 – The compact RFID system for entry level demands in the HF frequency range SIMATIC RF200 is a compact RFID system covering entry level demands in the field of RFID, i.e. for applications in the lower and medium performance ranges. The system comprises costefficient HF readers, which are especially suitable for applications in logistics and smaller assembly lines. The SIMATIC RF200 readers exclusively support the RFID standard ISO 15693 and can thus operate in conjunction with ISO transponders (MOBY D).

SIMATIC RF200 Simple and low-cost integration Commissioning and error diagnostics are quite easy with the comprehensive diagnostic functions of the SIMATIC RF200 system. Thanks to the M12 connector concept, all the connections match other automation components such as ECOFAST and SIMATIC. Integration into communication networks such as PROFIBUS, PROFINET, Ethernet, PC environments or IO-Link is also possible.

Whichever RFID system you connect to SIMATIC PLCs, PCs or PLCs from other manufacturers: the communication module performs the necessary adaptation. Communication modules can be used in both manufacturing and logistics. The readers of all RFID systems can be operated in the same manner using the function block FC/FB 45. IO-Link master modules
An IO-Link master module is required if a SIMATIC RF200 Reader is to be connected to a PLC. Suitable PLCs are offered by many renowned companies active in the field of automation.
All master modules can connect up to 4 SIMATIC RF200 IOLink readers. It is not necessary to do any RFID programming. Parameters are assigned easily and uncomplicated with the Port Configuration Tool (PCT). This tool can be invoked in STEP 7, V5.4 SP5 or higher, over the hardware configuration screens. In order to connect to automation systems of other vendors, a cost-free stand-alone version is available in the Internet. An IODD file available in the Internet enables the PCT tool to immediately identify the IO-Link reader with all associated variable names and setting options.
Siemens offers master modules for the distributed IO systems SIMATIC ET 200eco PN (for the field level) and for ET 200S and ET 200SP for installation in a cabinet. With these it is possible to seamlessly integrate RFID the established field buses PROFINET and PROFIBUS, and hence in the world of Totally Integrated Automation. IO-Link master modules
