Call for Entries Call for Entries The Call for Entries for The Card and Payments Awards 2016 is now open. Organisations have until 2 October 2015 to prepare entries across a range of categories. The shortlist will be announced early December 2015 following review by our panel of judges led by Roger Alexander. The Card and Payments Awards continues to provide a forum to recognise excellence and innovation in the UK and Irish card and payments industries. Take some time to reflect on your organisation’s achievements. Winning an award or being shortlisted as a finalist is a great achievement. A win can be leveraged on customer communications, play part of the business development process and also be a great source of pride and recognition for the teams behind the Awards. With the move towards digital continuing apace we expect to see many entries focussed on developments in online and mobile payments.

What is new for 2016! Retailers For 2016 we want to welcome retailers in conjunction with their payment partners to enter the new category Best Retailer Achievement in Payments which aims to recognise retailers who are proactively incorporating payments into their core business strategy to the benefit of customer experience and business performance. Start Ups We have also created a standalone category to showcase Best New Payments Industry Newcomer where we are looking to call out new organisations that are making a splash in payments. Open to All Industry Although many of the categories at TCPA require entries from the consumer or B2B facing brands we have nominated some categories for the first time as Open to All Industry and so that entries can come from all parts of the value chain for these categories. The four categories which are Open to All Industry are Best CSR Programme, Best Industry Innovation of the Year, Industry Achievement of the Year and Best Payments Industry Newcomer. We think there should be something for everyone! Irrespective of what type of payments company you are, how you service your customers, protect against fraud and deliver innovation is critical for your success. If you have done it well why not shout about it! The Card and Payments Awards which continues to be the go-to event for the industry will take place on 4 February 2016. We expect to be joined by more than 1200 senior figures from the industry. But if you want to be up on the podium, you need to enter first – quite simply you need to be “In it to Win it”! And whether or not you ultimately win it is a great process to go through. This brochure and our website www.cardandpaymentsawards.com is all you need. As always, we are on hand to answer any questions you may have on the entry process between now and the closing date of 2 October 2015. Thank you. 2

Judging

We have brought together a broad spectrum of independent experts, who either specialise in a particular field, or who have experience and insight into different aspects of the industry. All judges sign up to a Code of Conduct covering confidentiality, conflicts of interest and contact with entrants. A selection of the judges will review and score all the qualifying entries and compile a shortlist in each category. Entries will be judged against the criteria specifically detailed in this brochure. The judges will rely exclusively on the information provided by the Award entrants and not on any prior knowledge that they may have. The judges will be looking to see how the programme/ service/ product or initiative has been a success and how it stands out from the rest of the market. All judges will meet for a final judging day at the end of 2015 and vote for the overall winner of each award. Supporting material, where provided, will be presented at this point in the judging process. The judges  decision is final and there will be no opportunity for appeal, discussion or correspondence.

• Ensure you include relevant detail, be specific, give clear examples where possible. We reccomend absolute metrics to demonstrate your achievements. Any information marked as confidential will be treated as such but it is very helpful to underline the merits of a entry. NB: Absolute metrics are preferable to rather than percentage uplift. • Include supporting evidence only where it will enhance your submission but it will only be used in the final judging session* The entry needs to stand on the merits of the 1000 word statement and the 250 synopsis for the purpose of shortlisting. *An exception to this is Best Marketing Campaign of the Year and Best Design of the Year. • Keep it short. Try to summarise your achievements as succinctly as possible for the judges and do spell out what makes the entry award winning.
