9 am to 3 pm, Saturday, February 17, 2018 The benefits of meditation have been scientifically proven. If you have read the recent research but do not know just how to begin, Church of the Ascension in Knoxville is providing a day of basic instruction in Centering Prayer. This practice provides expertise which will enable you to experience God’s presence in your life.
Presenter will be Tom Ward, former chaplain at the University of the South in Sewanee. Since his “retirement”, Tom has devoted his time and energy to working with persons wishing to deepen their contemplative gifts. Please reserve your place at this special event sponsored through Church of the Ascension and Contemplative Outreach of East Tennessee by filling out the included form by February 10 and mailing it to Nancy Cain, coordinator of Contemplative Outreach, in care of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 314 W. Broadway, Maryville, TN 37803. Please enclose a $35 check made out to Contemplative Outreach of East Tennessee. After Feb. 10, registration will be $40.
