Communications & Marketing Coordinator as maternity leave replacement, starting mid-July 2016, for 12 months:
Job Summary:
To assist in all aspects of IFALPA’s internal and external Communication
To achieve a positive image of IFALPA and extend “brand” awareness by promoting IFALPA’s activities, outputs and services
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To assist the Managing Director with executing and advancing the IFALPA Communications Strategy
To produce (design/layout, coordinate and/or edit) all IFALPA publications, with a particular focus on the complete in-house production of InterPilot Magazine (trimestral).
To co-ordinate, monitor and feed Social Media and extend IFALPA’s Social Media branding
To establish and advancing relations with communications and media representatives and departments from IFALPA Member Associations, Regional Bodies and Pilots’ Alliances, as well as relevant stakeholders (e.g. ICAO, IATA, aviation industry) and cooperate where appropriate
Publicity generation: To establish, cultivate and extend relations with relevant international media and media/ press agencies
To monitor worldwide news on aviation related issues and activities of Member Associations, liaise with the relevant IFALPA staff and experts, and produce the monthly IFALPA e-News Broadcast.

To assist with executing and advancing the Sponsorship Strategy
To assist in populating relevant information to IFALPA’s website, managing contend and design, and providing a user-friendly web presence
To draft, coordinate and distribute press releases on all relevant subjects
To assist with responding to media enquiries, liaising with the Directorate and/or Spokespersons for established positions and arranging interviews and media/PR events.
To assist in all Communications preparation and implementation for IFALPA’s 72nd Annual Conference and Global Pilots’ Symposium (GPS) (May 2017, Montreal), including assisting with the production of Conference Daily News, the Conference Report, Social Media updates, media/PR events related to Conference/GPS
To monitor expenses and the overall communications/marketing budget to ensure cost effectiveness of business decisions and key performance indicators are met
Minimum Qualifications:
Distinct and effective oral and written communication skills in English, with a flair for technical writing and editing
A university degree or college diploma in public relations, communications, journalism and/or marketing
Extensive knowledge and experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other desktop publishing software
Previous experience and proficiency in Web Design, Web maintenance tools and Web Content Management System
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of progressive communications and marketing experience, however, a combination of education and experience will be considered
Excellent interpersonal skills, uses tact, diplomacy and negotiation skills to work with diverse personality types
work experience in the aviation sector (being familiar with terminology and processes)
