Community Budgets Monday 30th April 2012 – Central London About the Event “ ...these ‘pool and save’ pioneers can bring about truly local services with one big local cheque that knocks out bureaucratic processes everywhere and upends Whitehall’s monopoly over public money...” Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, December 2011 With the recent announcement of four ‘whole place’ and ten neighbourhood-level community budget pilots, there is a real drive for local agencies to take control of resources and improve local services, free from Central Government mandates and funding silos. This represents an opportunity to innovate and transform services, realise savings and efficiencies and deliver better outcomes for citizens. Capita’s 5th National Community Budgets Conference is perfectly timed to explore the new radical plans for community budgets drawing on the lessons learnt from the 16 community budget pilots for families with complex needs. With the intention to expand this approach to all areas by 2013 and to apply the principles to other high-cost priorities, it is essential for stakeholders involved in strategic partnership working from across the public sector to get to grips with this new model of service delivery. Attend this conference to gain critical insight into the challenges of creating a single pot of funding, assessing needs and priorities effectively, and demonstrating outcomes and bankable savings. Featuring high-level speakers from the new pilot areas, as well as pioneering solutions-focused sessions on information sharing and financial modelling, attend this event to realise the benefits of an integrated approach to public service delivery through community budgets.

Benefits of Attending • Hear two Chief Executives of 'whole place' community budget pilots explain their preparations, challenges and ambitions • Examine how a new neighbourhoodlevel pilot area is developing their model based on their experiences as a Local Integrated Services (LIS) pilot • Learn valuable lessons from the information sharing exemplar project on data management

Who Should Attend • Discover the vital role that the voluntary sector will play in engaging local communities • Get to grips with financial modelling and how to analyse cost-benefits in order to identify savings • Understand how new Health and Wellbeing Boards could provide opportunities for placebased working and joined up commissioning

• Explore how community budget principles can be applied to other high-spend areas including older people’s services and environmental issues
