Information that was previously available sparingly today are often disseminated without an appropriate control and with no specific criteria for such. This research encompasses two distinct phases in its development: first, we seek to identify the amount of all that information available to individuals and groups in an big data environment that is really understood analysing this relationship through the cognitive fit and load theories. Secondly, we aim to analyse the endowment effect presented by individuals when the transaction is made of information, not a product (as frequently reported). At the end of this study we expect to contribute to this field with a model able to assess the individual’s understanding of data and information at different levels of visualization exposure, as well as the associated endowment effect. Keywords Information Visualization, Data Understanding, Endowment Effect.
