START: The ride will begin at Cable Airport at 7:30 AM and riders will line up in corrals based on numerical order - lowest bib numbers are at the front Please make sure to arrive with enough time to park, check-in, use the restroom, and prepare for the big day ahead! BAG DROP: L’Etape California will provide a one-way transfer of participant
We are happy to have Downtown Los Angeles French Bakery, Pitchoun, on site Saturday, April 29 serving sandwiches, pastries, and an array of baked goods. Pitchoun prides themselves on their authentic French recipes, always made from scratch using only the highest quality of ingredients.

COFFEE, FOOD, WATER: Complimentary Peet’s Coffee and water is available at the race start for athletes to enjoy before the ride. TOILETS: Bathrooms will be located at the start, finish, and all full rest stops. Please dispose of trash at these locations only.
MECHANICAL SUPPORT: Free mechanical assistance will be available at the Expo/Start, roaming on the course via SRAM, and at each rest stop. PLEASE RETURN BORROWED SRAM EQUIPMENT TO START OR CALL COMMAND CENTER TO COORDINATE.
PARKING: Athletes and spectators may park at the start or the finish. AWARDS CEREMONY - 3PM Men's and Women's King/Queen of the Mountain Champions will win an experience to test themselves against 15,000 riders at Etape du Tour (Cumulative time of 3 climb sections only).
Parking will open at Cable Airport Saturday at 11 AM. Parking at Mt Baldy will open Saturday, April 29 at 10 AM for overnight dropoff.
SHUTTLE: A shuttle add-on will be available for athletes to get back to the start (inventory is limited). Reservations for the shuttle must be purchased prior to the ride day. Most competitors will descent by bike back to the start (30 - 40 min)

COURSE SAFETY SAFETY & SUPPORT ON THE ROUTE There are very few turns on this course but key intersections will be staffed by local authorities. The course is OPEN TO TRAFFIC but the organization has secured the proper planning and permitting if the rules are obeyed. Follow yellow and black arrows throughout the course but always be attentive to the road conditions and potential road hazards. Always ride as far to the right side of the road as possible so faster riders can smoothly overtake you and support vehicles can move freely on the course. Overtake only from the left and communicate verbally to other riders. Please report wreckless riders to rest stop staff or designated ride ambassadors (red numbers) on the course. For your own safety, please heed all warning signs (ex: blind curves, fast descent, etc) Keep calm if an accident occurs. Call the command center emergency number (909) 985-9736 and be prepared to describe the incident. If there is no service, please tell the nearest ambassador on the road (red numbers), rest stop crew, mobile mechanic, or fellow rider. IF YOU NEED TO DROP OF OUT THE RIDE, PLEASE NOTIFY THE NEAREST REST STOP STAFF. REST STOP #3 IS THE MOST CONVENIENT LOCATION TO DROP OF OUT OF THE RIDE WHERE THERE IS GOOD MOBILE PHONE RECEPTION. REST STOP #5 IS THE FINAL LOCATION TO END THE RIDE EARLY - TURN RIGHT ONTO MT. BALDY ROAD TO RIDE BACK TO THE START INSTEAD OF CLIMBING THE FINAL 5 MILES TO THE SUMMIT.

Call this emergency number if an accident occurs on the course. The ride command center will assess the situation and act accordingly. Each rest stop is equipped with a satellite phone that can contact the command center if your mobile phone is not working
NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT Five full rest stops (two passed twice) and two hydration stops (on two final climbs) are placed throughout the course, appoximately every 15 miles. Full rest stops include: - PowerBar Products (Energy Bars, PowerGels, Energy Blasts) - Fruit - Cola/Water
FULL REST STOPS: there are a toal of five Full Rest Stops on the course located at miles 12, 22, 41.4, 57.9, and 68
HYDRATION:
in addition to the Full Rest Stops, there will be two Hydration Stops. Please note ONLY water will be available at these stops. Hydration Stops are locaed at miles 52.2 and 72. Respect the environment and local communities - use the portable at the rest stops and dispose of trash in waste bins only.
MECHANICAL SUPPORT 1. Wave at a SRAM support vehicle if one is within sight 2. Stop in a safe place on the side of the road and relay to other riders that you need assistance - a SRAM mechanic or official event support vehicle will assist upon reaching you 3. If you sense a slow-building problem (ex: noisy brakes, clicking gears, rattling) we advise you to visit one of the stationary mechanics at each of the full rest stops to evaluate your bike.
