Use of PRE herbicides can reduce resistant weed biotype selection by introducing alternative modes of action and providing residual control. Always read and follow the label directions. 1 All trademarks and registered trademarks are the property of the respective manufacturers. 2 The recommended rate for a specific PRE herbicide product for corn can vary by herbicide formulation, geography, soil type, and cropping system. Refer to label. 3 Refer to product label for crop rotation limitations for specific crops that are not listed in this table. 4 Use rotation restrictions in this table as a general guide. Specific state/local or soil characteristic restrictions may apply for certain herbicides. Always consult label. 5 Product label requires the designated rotation period for the crop listed in addition to a successful field bioassay. 6 NCS, 2CS, and N/A: Next Cropping Season & Second Cropping Season after herbicide application and Not Available or Not Applicable, respectively. 7 Most PRE products require rain or sprinkler irrigation to bring product into contact with germinating weed seeds. If not received in 7–10 days, a light tillage is recommended.

17

CROP PROTECTION // PRE-EMERGENCE HERBICIDES // POST USE OF PREEMERGENCE HERBICIDES

Some PRE corn herbicides can be used POST to provide residual weed control but often require use of a tank-mix partner to obtain control of emerged weeds. Restrictions or options will vary by product and tank-mix partner.
