Thanks to its innovative product concepts, Zentis provides premium-quality taste experiences for the customer and is ranked number 2 for sales of fruit jams in Germany. Zentis boasts the following areas of expertise: fruit preparations for the dairy industry and for the non-dairy industry (e.g. bakery and confectionery industry), sweet spreads (quality fruit jams, jellies and sweet cream spreads for wholesalers and large consumers) and confectionery (marzipan and chocolate specialities for wholesalers and large consumers). In 2016, group revenue amounted to some 666 million euros. 71 percent were attributable to dairy industry, 13 percent to sweet spreads. Six percent were attributable to confectionery as well as to non-dairy industry. Zentis was established in Aachen in 1893. Today, the company employs approx. more than 2,000 people worldwide. The company is positioned with a broad international base and supplies virtually all markets in Europe, Asia, North America, Australia and Oceania with specialist fruit preparations for the food processing industry. Zentis also covers significant sections of the South American market. Overall, the proportion of exports is 62 percent. In order to meet specific local customer requirements quickly and effectively, Zentis operates production facilities and subsidiaries in its most important markets.



In Germany, two plants in Aachen employ more than 1,100 people to produce fruit preparations for the dairy, bakery and confectionery industry, jams, sweet cream spreads and confectionery products.



In Hungary, Zentis Hungaria Bt. located in Drégelypalánk produces fruit preparations for the dairy, ice-cream and bakery industries.



In Poland, Zentis Polska Sp. z.o.o. located in Zelków produces fruit preparations for the dairy, ice-cream and bakery industries.



In the USA, Zentis North America LLC produces fruit preparations for the dairy, ice-cream and bakery industries. The plants are located in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), Plymouth (Indiana) and at the west coast in Gardena (California).



In Russia, OOO Zentis Russia located in Moscow and Raos produces fruit preparations for the dairy, ice-cream and bakery industries, and for confectionery.



In addition to production and sales companies, Zentis Logistik Service GmbH is also part of the Group. It operates 66 specialist vehicles for transporting fresh products. They are based at plant 2 in Aachen-Eilendorf.

The fruits processed by the company are what give yoghurt, fruit quark and other dairy products their authentically fruity flavour. Stable cereals and chocolate shavings which are stirred directly into the product, or chocolate-coated cereals like flakes or chocolate balls for twin pot products from Aachen, are also used to enhance almost every dairy product you can buy. The traditional company based in Aachen also produces pastes for the bakery and confectionery industries. The product range covers fruit and cream fillings resistant to freezing and baking. It includes marzipan pastes for a variety of applications before baking, fruit fillings, jams, cream and special fillings, glazes and decorations for filling, covering, processing and refining after baking has been carried out.

He who sows quality will reap success Zentis' important positioning in the market and its corporate success are based on a consistent quality policy that aims to surpass the market standards rather than merely be judged by them. The ingredients are subject to detailed checks, all work stages are rigorously supervised, and stringent controls are used to monitor filling processes. Absolute compliance with strict hygiene regulations is a matter of course. Zentis was one of the first companies to receive certification in conformity with DIN ISO 9001. This certification has meanwhile been replaced by IFS (International Featured Standard Food) that is specific to food safety. Since 1993, Zentis has been awarded “higher level” or “A Grade” for every inspection in accordance with IFS. This gives the company the highest scores for best quality throughout the production process. Since 2011, Zentis has also been certified in accordance with the requirements of Food Safety System Certification 22000:2010 (FSSC). Key elements of this certification include food safety, personnel and operational hygiene, transparent traceability and a continuous process of training for members of staff. Progressive thinking calls for sustainable action The valuable raw materials processed by Zentis are provided by nature. That's why Zentis is inherently committed to treating nature, its most important supplier, with the respect and care it deserves. This begins first and foremost with an ongoing commitment to saving energy, waste and water.
