Aim and Objectives The paper explains how developing physical activity for health community outreach communication campaigns can enhance public awareness for sustainable development (SD) progress in Africa. Sports or physical activity outreaches are vital for making the relevance of university physical activity for health education curriculum a public reality. It is imperative for universities to plan, develop, implement, monitor, & evaluate the effectiveness of their sports outreach policies, programmes, projects, and activities for the timely achievement of the SDGs for (SD). The salient issues under investigations include: the significance of physical activity for health; the issues & options in east African university research outreach methodology; the prospects & challenges of the university physical activity for health outreach activities; the roles of the stakeholders; & multiple methods of infusing outreach activities into university research & education curricula to achieve 2030 sustainable education goals. 9/20/2016

Methods: This review was conducted by sourcing policy strategy documents, current literature, and news bulletins, online search engines, through discussion with key informants, documents from the governments of the east African community (EAC), inter-university council for east Africa (IUCEA), DAAD, SIDA, AICAD, JICA, EU, UNICEF, WHO, UNDP, the World Bank , and lessons learned from multiple community outreach innovations best practices. 9/20/2016

Results: There
are a few but largely less effective outreaches in the schools, institutions, communities, and industries; low awareness of physical activity for health outreach activities among the public; lack of national university sports outreach policy strategies; poor funding; low access to ICT use, and poor culture of dissemination of sports research outputs. Outreaches are hindered by often weak institutional capacity, poor or wrong planning of ICT deployment, uncoordinated planning or implementation of ICT policy, lack of special sports funding or budget support, poor accountability, and low staff morale. 9/20/2016

ICT content quality, consistence, & sustenance can have a great role in creating, raising, developing, & sustaining physical activity awareness of public healthcare in Africa. Health awareness promotes global networking for SDGs. ICT is vital for sports information & knowledge sharing, project funding, ethics, gender equity, enhancing healthy bodies for healthy minds, sports education & research, interuniversity, and regular North-South sports collaborations. Sports campaigns will help to achieve universal health coverage (UHC) with financial risk protection, access to quality essential community health care services for all.
