This book report is due no later than October 1st. I am only interested in YOUR OPINION of the book — NOT a book summary. DO NOT GET
ANYTHING FROM THE INTERNET!!
I do expect you to read the book (yes, I have read all the books on this list and I will know if you have read the one you have chosen or not). Therefore content will count as much as 75%. BE CONSISTENT! Any graphic (max one per page no larger than 18 pica square) should be appropriate to your opinion of the book. I expect this to be something you would like me to show off. The rules are simple but expect me to grade hard: 4 One full page to three pages (serious points off for less than one full page or more than three pages). Use 3 pica margins (except bottom 6 pica) and 20 pt leading. You will receive four points for each full line of text (up to 100 points) and lose one point for each spelling, punctuation, or style error. Widows and/or orphans are five points off each occurrence. 4 Georgia or New Century Schoolbook font at 12 point for body text. 4 Put your name and period in the footer three pica from the bottom of the page on the left side and auto page number on the right. 4 You MAY use a small graphic on page two and three no larger than 18 pica on a side (3”). 4 Place a graphic of the book cover on the first page no larger than 14 picas on an edge. The books listed on the back are the only books you can use for the book report. Please be sure to check the TITLE AND AUTHOR to be sure you are getting the correct book.
Everyone will be doing their report on The Element, by Ken Robinson, for the second nine weeks. We have a very limited number in the school library. You may wish to get a copy from the public library ASAP. As a last resort, it can be purchased from Amazon for $12–$13 used as of the day of this writing but it takes two weeks to get it. It retails for $15 in paperback. You may also wish to check out a used book store for availability. Good luck and enjoy.
