Elder Alvin Perryman is the host pastor. Wednesday, February 5th Bible Study Family Night. We had an exciting series begins this Wednesday on Prayer. This week we will begin the Priority and Pattern of Prayer.
During the pattern of prayer sessions, which will continue through March, we will examine each phrase of the Lord’s Prayer. If you have been reciting the Lord’s Prayer since you were a child and hadn’t stopped to consider the meaning behind what you are saying then you should come and explore ALL that is contained in this great prayer that Jesus taught His disciples. There will be a variety of wonderful teachers. Young People meet on the upper level. Children’s Choir and Sunshine Band meet on the lower level. Adults convene on the main level. ALSO The Voices of Faith Youth Choir will rehearse immediately following Bible Study Friday, February 7th Friday evening service begins with Prayer at 6:00 P.M. The Fine Arts Department presents: "Descendents of a Great People" in celebration of Black History month. Join us as our own children take us back in history in dramatic form. All are welcomed to attend. Saturday, February 8th The Men’s Fellowship will host their annual Chili cook-off at 5:00 P.M. Brothers are encouraged to come out for a wonderful time of fellowship study of the word and great food. Whose chili will win this year…?

Children's Church Update: January 2014 We are off to another great start in Children’s Church. We look forward to a wonderful year of learning and teaching God’s truths to the children. Our goal each year is for the children is to learn the Bible through reading, application, and hands on activities. The memory scripture for this year is Psalm 100. We will cover a verse every Sunday until ALL the children know it by heart. Help Wanted: We would like to have you on our staff. Please contact Sis. Introduction to The Educational Assistance Program The Chicago Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. established the Educational Assistance Program (EAP) to grant $1000.00 merit awards or $1500.00 Dr. Andrew S. Perez awards to high school seniors in honor of the WWII Tuskegee Airmen. Students winning awards exemplify the qualities of the Tuskegee Airmen:
Vision of their own potential Commitment to excellence, perseverance and service Thirst for knowledge, personal growth and positive societal change Honor and Integrity in actions and behaviors Respect for self, others and the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen.
The award acknowledges the hard work, perseverance and success of the 15,000 African Americans who received Aviation training or supported WWII operations based in Tuskegee, Alabama from 1941 – 1948. Eligibility and Application Criteria The Chicago Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. provides awards to qualified high school seniors who plan to attend accredited institution as full-time students the fall of the succeeding school year. The following criteria must be met:
High school graduation in the spring of the current school year Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale ACT composite of 18 or higher and/or SAT equivalent.

Completed application (see the next pages) High school transcript, evidencing a minimum 3.0 grade point average An essay titled “The Tuskegee Airmen”, typed, double-spaced not to exceed one (1) page An essay titled “I Am”, typed, double-spaced not to exceed two (2) pages One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, coach or other school official on school letterhead One letter of recommendation from a community leader, faith leader or other non-academic (no family members). A copy of parent(s)’ or guardian’s latest IRS Form 1040 ( 2013 preferable but 2012 acceptable) through adjusted gross income line, or 1040EZ or other OFFICIAL document (W-2/W-4 not acceptable); SSN may be “blacked out”.
