Abstract In current system safety plays an important role, so best safety systems to be implemented in everyday routines. Gas leakage is a major concern with residential, commercial premises, and gas powered transportation vehicles. One of the preventive measures to avoid the danger associated with gas leakage is to install a gas leakage detector at vulnerable locations. The objective of this work is to present the design of a cost effective automatic alarming system, which can detect liquefied petroleum gas leakage in various premises. The aim of this work is to monitor for liquid petroleum gas (LPG) leakage to avoid fire accidents providing safety feature where security is an important issue. The system detects the leakage of the LPG using gas sensor and temperature using temperature sensor and alerts the consumer about the gas leakage by triggering a buzzer. The proposed system uses the AT89C51Microcontroller and a simple alarm system to alert the person about the gas leakage via alarm. When the system detects the LPG concentration in the air exceeds the certain level then it immediately alert the consumer by activating the alarm which includes the LED, Buzzer simultaneously and display the message on LCD display to take the necessary action and take any precautionary steps to decrease the gas concentration in the air.

INTRODUCTION Fire is one of the most useful source energy known to man. It is one of the most important discoveries of man. Despite this fire is also one of the most dangerous things known to man. Still today several casualties are caused by fires that cause a lot of damage to life and properties. Our work is specifically designed to tackle this problem. The increase in the development of technology and the human race, we failed to take care about the sur-

roundings in which we live in [1]. Thus we polluted the environment and thereby reducing the quality of the place we live in. Even though there are several aspects of pollution such as soil, air and water pollution, out of these air pollution acts as the serious aspect as other can detected visually and by taste, but the polluted air cannot be detected as it can be odorless, tasteless and colorless. Hence there is a growing demand for the environmental pollution monitoring and control systems. In the
