Girls in STEM 2017 Scholarship Application
Thank you for your interest in Girls in STEM! Thank you to our amazing sponsors AT&T, APS, Central Arizona Project, Freeport-McMoRan Foundation, GoDaddy, Herbert H. & Barbara C. Dow Foundation, Intel, Macy’s, SRP, and WebPT for supporting Girls in STEM! The following application is to apply for a scholarship to participate in the Girls in STEM event on Friday, October 27–28, 2017. Priority will be given to students in areas of highest need for support. Scholarships are limited.
Application Materials Required: 1. Completed application form 2. Additional page for student’s personal statement (if space needed) 3. One letter of recommendation: These should not only detail past information, but also explain why student would be a prime candidate for the Girls in STEM event. (These should be provided by non-family members and MUST be enclosed with the application) The event fee is $30. If a student is appointed a scholarship, the student will be able to attend the October 27–28, 2017 workshop at no charge to the student. Applications will be reviewed starting Octoberber 17, 2017 and decisions will be made by October 17, 2017. Applicants will be notified as they are approved. There are a limited number of scholarships available through Arizona Science Center. If applying for a scholarship, a space in the workshop will not be held for you unless you are awarded a scholarship. If a student is not selected for a scholarship, they may still sign up for the Girls in STEM event at the full $30 fee if space is still available.
Remember to fill out the application form in its entirety. Print or type your information neatly on the application form. This is a competitive process with a limited number of available seats.
