Abstract. A new substitute name, Kmentophylus nom. nov., is proposed for the recently described plant bug genus Aplagiognathus Duwal, Yasunaga & Lee, 2010 (Miridae: Phylinae: Phylini) that is preoccupied by the genus group name, Aplagiognathus Thomson, 1860 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae). Accordingly, a new combination, Kmentophylus albopilosus (Duwal, Yasunaga & Lee, 2010) comb. nov., is established. Key words. Heteroptera, Miridae, Phylinae, Aplagiognathus, Kmentophylus, homonymy, new substitute name, new combination. In our recent paper treating the phyline plant bugs from Nepal (DUWAL et al. 2010), a new genus Aplagiognathus Duwal, Yasunaga & Lee, 2010 was erected to accommodate a single species, A. albopilosus Duwal, Yasunaga & Lee, 2010. However, this generic name is now confirmed to be preoccupied by a valid coleopteran genus, Aplagiognathus Thomson, 1860 of the family Cerambycidae, through the kind suggestion by Petr Kment of the National Museum, Prague, to whom we are greatly indebted. The following nomenclatorial changes are thus proposed. Kmentophylus nom. nov. Aplagiognathus Duwal, Yasunaga & Lee, 2010: 6, type species by original designation: Aplagiognathus albopilosus Duwal, Yasunaga & Lee, 2010. Junior primary homonym of Aplagiognathus Thomson, 1860: 320 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Prioninae: Macrotomini).
