In Respondus under the top tab Retrieval & Reports. Select Retrieve Questions from the left-side menu. Click the Retrieve Questions icon (the Retrieve Questions Wizards opens). From the drop-down menu select –add new server- (the Add New Server Settings window opens). Select No, I want to enter the server settings manually. Click Next. Click Next (the Blackboard Server and Course window opens).

Fill in the Blackboard Server and Course page with the information shown in the image below. 8. In the User Name and Password fields enter your Onyen and password. Note that if you choose to check the Remember my User Name and Password box you will need to change the saved password every time you change your Onyen password. Also note that if you are working form outside campus you will need to have a VPN connection. 9. After entering your Onyen and password click OK. You will get back to the Retrieve Questions Wizards page. 7.

10. Click Next to continue (the Retrieve Question Wizard opens).

11. From the drop-down menu select the Blackboard course you wish to retrieve

content from. 12. Choose Exam, Survey or Pool and from the corresponding drop-down menu select the name of the item you wish to extract. 13. Enter the name you wish to give to the extracted file. 14. Click Next to continue.

15. A confirmation page will appear. Click OK to continue.

16. Click Finish to leave the Retrieve Questions Wizard.

17. Click the top tab Start. 18. Select Open or Create from the left-side menu. 19. Click the on the Open icon. 20. Select the retrieved exam, pool or survey. 21. Click Open.

22. Click the top tab Preview & Publish. 23. Select Print Options from the left-side menu. 24. Select Exam with Answer Key and click Settings (the Printing Options Page opens).

i. Fill in the Printing Options page with the selections shown in the image below. ii. Note that you will have to make selections under the Question Content tab and the Formatting tab, click OK. You will be taken back to the Print Options page.

25. Back on the Print Options page, click Preview (the Preview page opens).

26. Click Copy to Clipboard.

Log into https://sakai.unc.edu and enter the course you wish to import the test into. Click the Test and Quizzes link on your course menu. If the link is not available add the link by going to Site Info> Edit Tools> Check the box for Test & Quizzes> Continue> Finish. Note that the Test & Quizzes tool link might show in the course menu with a different name if the default name was changed. Enter the title for the test, check Create using markup test and click Create. In the box under Questions paste the content from the Respondus clipboard and click Next. A validation page displays. Review your questions and click Create Assessment or Create Question Pool to finish. You may now go to the list of unpublished tests and click Edit from the drop down menu next to the name of the test you have just created. You may now edit the test questions if necessary. To edit the test settings, click Settings from the drop down menu next to the name of the test.
