THE PAGODA RIDE We are not your average tour operator. We operate a service, a cut above our competitors. Our intention is not just to give you a trek or a tour - but something more to remember us by. What is important is the number of satisfied friends who will come back to explore with us again and again. I Am Adventure, in operation since 2006, started humbly and has gone from strength to strength to become one of the most formidable experience providers for its clients. Our philosophy is based on one of SUSTAINABILITY, the long-term assurance that whatever activity we conduct in any natural area must contribute to the conservation and to the well-being of the inhabitants of that area, thus ensuring that future generations will be able to visit those same areas and enjoy the same experience as did their parents before them. Our expansion has been gradual and careful. Over the years we have earned an enviable reputation for offering unbeatable value for money. This does not mean that we provide an inferior product, in fact, quite the contrary. Our packages are renowned for including far more than others offer, and our vast infrastructure of owned 4X4 SUV's, Royal Enfield/ Bullet bikes, adventure equipment and other resources mean that clients are able to enjoy the best of India without added expense. I Am Adventure offers a wide range of focused group holidays, private tours and special tailor-made itineraries. You can choose from a wide selection of tours including family adventures, cultural holidays, wildlife safaris, trekking expeditions, rafting trips and combination trips. If you can't find a tour that suits you, then please let us know and we'll be happy to create an itinerary especially for you. Having said all this, all that remains now is you, the client. We target adventure-minded people between 15 to 55 years of age, who, through their own active participation in the tours, get maximum enjoyment. Are you ready to ride/ drive on the newly opened trilateral ‘Asia Highway’ & make history, if yes then read on... Our Signature motorbike tour is specially designed for people who want to see the beauty of Myanmar & Thailand at a relaxed pace over a period of two (2+) weeks. We start in Imphal (Manipur) and end in Bangkok (Thailand). For people who are coming from outside India/ other states, you are required to be in Imphal, one (1) day prior to the departure of your tour.
We get together in Manipur’s capital city of Imphal & meet our fellow travellers. Trust us when we tell you, you will shake hands with strangers today but on the last day of the journey, you will be hugging these same people!!! A getting to know each other & safety briefing session in evening over some masala chai & local Manipuri dinner.
You may choose to go on one of our fixed departure dates if you are an individual. However, if you are group of eight (6) or more friends then we can do a custom tailor made tour for you as well, the dates for which can be at your convenience. Today we ride/ drive through the beautiful mountains to reach Moreh, the last town on the Indian side, bordering Myanmar. After exit formalities, we enter Myanmar through the Indo – Myanmar friendship bridge/ road. Post the entry formalities on the other side of the border, we are all set to ride into the Land of Pagodas :)
This is the most well researched itinerary that we have chosen after our one month long recce (survey) ride to Myanmar – Laos – Cambodia – Thailand in Jan – Feb 2016. See all pics here :) We can help you in arranging a reliable logistics services company (http://www.gatikwe.com) to pick up your motorbike from anywhere in India and delivering it to the team hotel at Imphal. If you want a motorbike on rent from Delhi then please inform us separately, we will help you in arranging a good quality reliable motorbike from one of our trusted vendors. If you have your own motorbike then it’s recommended to courier it to Imphal using the logistics services company (http://www.gatikwe. com), they take about 15 - 20 days to ship to Imphal from almost anywhere in India. You can either ride single or have your partner as pillion. She also has a choice to hop on/ off between your motorbike and the SUV for added comfort. We mostly run mixed tours – SUV’s and motor-bikers go together.

MONYWA INTRODUCTION Monywa is a town which lies on the banks of Chindwin river, tucked away in the dry zone of Central Burma, West of Mandalay. Although the area receives few foreign tourists, the town and surroundings are dotted with a number of unique sites. The valley surrounding Monywa is full of busy farms, beautiful pagodas and small villages. The rural area is mainly prominently agricultural, with short-month crops as beans, palm sugar and cotton. Further west of the Chindwin river a large-scaled copper mine is situated. The local market in town offers locally produced food, fruits, handicrafts and textiles and is an ideal place to buy any souvenirs & to try some local dishes. Local people here mainly use motorbikes, bicycles and trishaws for daily work and transportation. Monywa can be translated closely into “Miss Pancake Town”. A local legend says that in the past, there was a Prince visiting the village who met a girl selling fried pancakes, whom he eventually married.
Scenic ride through villages, mountains, curves to keep you busy throughout the day!! Don’t get scared by reading thisMyanmas are very very friendly people :) Once in Monywa, visit the colourful Thanbuddhyi Pagoda which is home to more than 500,000 images of Buddha and the Hiaungdawmu Buddha, the second largest reclining Buddha in Burma. As we start the ride today, get ready for some dusty roads & river crossings. It’s a challenging day :) Bagan is the temple city of Myanmar, with thousands of temples & pagodas around. The Ayeyarwady river drifts past it’s northern & western sides.

Welcome to the country’s new capital city!!! In 2005, the capital was shifted from Yangon to a more central city, Naypyidaw :) Most government ministries & their staff has been relocated here. It’s a grand - big city, literally meaning Royal City of the Sun.

After an early morning hearty breakfast, we set out for a long day on the road. Mountains will be by your side throughout the day. Hit the BIG ROAD = The Yangon Mandalay expressway & ride as fast as your bike would go…
We will admit it: a giant gilded rock on the top of a mountain seems like an odd, perhaps even gaudy, destination. But there really is something special about the boulder stupa of Kyaiktiyo.

Thailand’s northern capital is an escape from the whirlwind pace of life of its southern rival. Despite the constant arrival of planes and trains full of sightseers, the former seat of the Lanna kingdom is still blissfully calm and laid-back. This is a place to relax after the chaos of Bangkok and recharge your batteries with fabulous food and leisurely wandering. If you don’t want to participate in the vast array of activities on offer, just stroll around the backstreets, and discover a city that is still firmly Thai in its aspect, atmosphere, and attitude.

Day Chiang Mai – Chiang Dao - Pai (210 km), stay at hotel in Pai
World Famous: Mae Hong Song Loop Start
This magnificent stretch of road north of Mae Rim really sets the scene for this journey. Although many riders taking the north route head straight to Pai, the 80km deviation to Chiang Dao, a sleepy town nestled amongst a ring of vast limestone cliffs, is well worth the effort. The tarmac on this stretch, which winds its way through open expanses of verdant farmland and dusty towns, to sky-high gorges and vine-covered rocky outcrops, is in great condition, which is helpful if you’re still getting used to being on a bike.

Day Pai – Soppong – Mae Aw/ Ban Rak Thai (125 km), stay at hotel in Ban Rak Thai
The most scenic stretch of road on the loop lies just beyond Pai – think sharp hairpins and epic panoramas, across a landscape that could be mistaken for the set of Jurassic Park. Charming little Soppong is worth a stop, if just for a coffee. A muddy river runs along the lower flank of the town, which is lovely to watch from the precariously cantilevered terrace at the Soppong River Inn. With a ‘20s jazz soundtrack wafting down from the cafe it’s an ideal spot to recuperate. Sixteen kilometers outside Mae Hong Son, just after the turnoff to Fish Cave, is a small right fork onto a concrete road. Turn off and glide through the paddies toward the Chinese outpost village of Mae Aw, also known as Ban Rak Thai, right on the border with Myanmar. A short while into the 40km stretch, the scenery will feel reminiscent of medieval China; tea plantations are laid out across the wild scrubland in a patchwork of browns and dark greens, Mandarin scripture covers wooden teahouses and, as you reach the village itself, a serene glassy lake comes quietly into view. Get yourself a steaming cup of Chinese black tea and enjoy the tranquility.

Once you hit Mae Hong Son town (‘City of Three Mists’) the road seems to level out. Hairpins change into sweeping racetrack curves, which are exceptionally fun to ride. Khun Yuam, 85km south of Mae Hong Son town, is a stopping point for one main reason: a moment of deliberation. Continue south and onto the open plains of Mae Sariang or head inland. Mae Chaem is the last chance saloon town before the long climb to the summit of Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s tallest mountain. It’s a good spot to refuel both the bikes and yourself for the evening.

Located halfway between Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Kamphaeng Phet translates as ‘Diamond Wall’, a reference to the apparent strength of this formerly walled city’s protective barrier. This level of security was necessary, as the city helped to protect the Sukhothai and later Ayuthaya kingdoms against attacks from Burma. Parts of the wall can still be seen today, as well as impressive ruins of several religious structures. The modern city stretches along a shallow section of Mae Nam Ping and is one of Thailand’s pleasanter provincial capitals.
